Free Trade Area of the Americas: Is the US really committed to free trade and willing to see the FTAA through?

  • Yes, the US likes its trade routes.

Yes, the US is really committed to free trade, because the US really benefits from free trade. The United States has found a way to export the things it does best to willing markets, but at the same time import cheaply made goods that are made with less expensive labor than is available domestically. The US will not want to screw that up and will see the FTAA through.

  • We Support Free Trade

America is committed to free trade because free trade leads to increased economic activity in the United States and an expansion of our gross domestic product. Free trade also is a tax free way to send aide to developing nations, because free trade with those nations sends money directly to business owners in developing economies doing business with the U.S.
