  • There's so much to learn.

Scientists are advancing their studies faster than ever before. We are only starting to learn what we don't know. There are so many things that science has been wrong about over the years, and so many things to discovery. Pandas are just a start. We can continue to learn about countless subjects.

  • DNA testing can offer surprises

DNA testing may link certain animals, mammals, etc...as science continues to expand. These tests provide further knowledge to what scientists and historians have been studying for years. It is supposed that these studies, finding connections between animals, etc. provide insigt to evolution. If DNA can show further links than already known, these discoveries might be of historical value.

  • Humanity should be less arrogant

Pandas are definitively bears according to new DNA. Although the collective knowledge of humanity is great it really was not that long ago that we thought the earth was the center of the Solar System. It seems that we, as a collective, should be more embracing of our lack of knowledge and if we were the open-mindedness that corresponded with that would lead to even more discoveries.

  • I'm not looking for surprises.

It is no surprise to anyone that Giant Pandas are bears, with or without DNA testing. Although I think this type of testing can be helpful for medical reasons, classification doesn't really matter. If it's not going to help the animals, DNA testing is a waste of time and money.
