  • I consider my pets, my family

Some people may not understand the bond between humans and their pets, but animals give a great amount of comfort to people all over the world. That said, even the most rudimentary search on the commercial pet food industry should show that there is practically no regulation regarding the production of these "foods" and that the pet food industry exploit this fact to advertise their product as "healthy and nutritious." There should be a reasonable attempt to regulate the pet food industry, as our pets cannot voice their concerns.

  • Regulation is over-rated,

Regulation of this sort is quite a deception. First, who is going to regulate the regulators. Regulators are the same type of folks (good, bad, honest, dishonest, greedy, generous, etc) as the rest of us. Second, this type of regulation gives the consumer a FALSE sense of security, so that the consumer tends to suspend his judgment and discernment when purchasing an item that is "FDA" approved. Thirdly, it leads to much greater costs in the market place and in one's tax bill.
