GM Recalls Cadillacs: Are GM vehicles "widow makers," like their employees have claimed?

  • They are not safe cars.

A review of the performance record of the GM vehicles will show that GM vehicles are dangerous. Their employees are correct to sound the alarm about their vehicles. GM vehicles have had a lot of problems not only with recalls, but with defects that have killed people, such as ignition switch issues. Buyer beware.

  • Sensationalism helps no-one

Sure calling an entire line of vehicles a sensationalist name like "widow makers" seems to be a ploy to draw negative attention and generate a negative image in one's mind before the data is even presented. There is clearly an issue here that needs to be addressed with regards to the construction and safety testing of the vehicles, but to label them "widow makers" doesn't help anyone.

  • They are reliable cars

I think General Motors vehicles number one goal is simply to make the best and most reliable vehicle out there. They have many to chose from and they all have a different type of style. I simply do not see how anyone could look a GM vehicle and refer to it as a "widow maker".

  • No, sensationalist titles like "widow makers" only serve to draw negative attention

GM vehicles have millions of miles on the roads. Calling an entire line of vehicles a sensationalist name like "widow makers" seems to be a ploy to draw negative attention and generate a negative image in one's mind before the data is even presented. By publicizing facts, the consumers can make their own decisions regarding the safety of this line of vehicles.
