Google was already too big a few years ago. Now it has so much money that it is getting into other scientific endeavors besides personal computer services. We should not be surprised. Google Earth is kind of startling -- the fact that the company came up with a way to photograph every house, block, and geographical detail on most of the earth should have told us they were too big for just being an internet company.
Google recently bought Titan Aerospace, a maker of solar-powered drones, in order to bring Internet access to remote parts of the world. The atmospheric satellites could also be beneficial in disaster relief and environmental assessment. Google is a solid company that provides services and employment to millions and this is a positive step for the company to continue to grow.
As Google grows they care less and less about the people they serve. YouTube is a prime example of this problem. As a consumer, I don't understand why a company like Google would need to purchase something like Titan Aerospace. It's equally weird that Facebook wanted to buy up this drone maker as well.
It is a free market and the fact that google is buying everything it can from that market in order to increase its profit does not symbolize that they are getting to be to big. Although we do not know what their plan is, does not mean we shouldn't allow them to.
