  • More guns= more murders. Simple

If nobody had owned guns the need for guns would be eliminated. You do not need a gun to defend yourself if the person from whom are defending yourself does not have one. In the UK for example, gun ownership is illegal so anybody found with one is dealt with before they go on to murder someone or commit armed robbery. Guns are designed purely to kill, they serve no positive purpose and should not be glorified as they currently are. Saying that you have the right to a gun is to say that you have the right to kill someone- which nobody does. Restrictions in place at the minute quite obviously don't work because people are still being killed by guns every day. Ban guns totally- it is the only way

  • Further gun contol

We have been in this world full of people that own guns that are not allowed to and we have buried more bodies in the last 5 years than in the olden days. This world is turning over into a new generation that's most non-educated and has is either dead, alive in jail or selling drugs. We need to teach this new generation what the world needs to be for it to be a safe environment for them to grow up in and have there children be safe in the future.

  • Gun control should definitely be limited!

I can't believe how many people are saying that it should be legal to own a gun (unless you are a policeman or something). After all that has happened in America (School shootings) aren't you all afraid! I live in Hong Kong where guns aren't allowed and I'm actually afraid to go to the states just because of the limited gun control. I understand that some people feel more safe owning a gun for protection but if we didn't have guns in the first place we wouldn't have that problem. I know that now it would be difficult to completely ban guns, but maybe if we little by little start to limit who can have a gun, then one day nearly no one apart for policemen and government agents will possess guns.

  • Yes, more gun control is needed.

The legal right to own and carry a gun was really meant for small militia that would develop to fight oppression. The fact that people with problematic criminal and mental histories can own semi automatic and automatic weapons means that we need more laws passed to limit gun ownership even further.

  • Keep my guns

After taking away my guns, you might need to come and get my knives. I have quite a few including my original Cub Scout knife, not to mention my kitchen has enough to ward off a group of angry MSNBC and CNN watch dogs - they can be rather vicious.

  • No no no

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

  • Its not the gun but the people who abuse it

In reality we can all say that the world is not safe until you have passed away so it is necessary to own a fire arm to protect yourself from danger. In my opinion gun control laws are unless because some how people are going to find a way to smuggle gums and criminal are highly so in order to prevent danger we must have a thorough background check on the person owning the gun.

  • Protection against burglars... And our government

The constitutional right to bear arms was not only set so we could defend ourselves from crooks and killers, but also to protect ourselves from our own government. It is unlikely to happen, but just in case our government gets out of control, the people are expected to be able to defend themselves and our nation. You think our government can't get too powerful? Germany didn't expect someone like Hitler until it was too late... North Korea? They can't do anything. But if they had arms, they might not be anything like they are now.

  • No more gun laws

Laws should not be passed to limit gun ownership further. This is because we have plenty of laws already established to limit gun ownership. The right to bear arms is in the constitution, and the laws already in effect are unconstitutional. Further legislation regarding this matter would make this even worse.

  • Universal Background Checks, Psych Evals, Clip Limits Part of Process

Laws shouldn't limit gun ownership further. We should still own guns. However, there should be universal background checks, psych evaluations and limiting assault weapons should be the norm. It just takes one bullet to kill someone, people. We don't need a clip of 15 bullets just to defend our home against one burglar. A standard clip of eight bullets is enough, in addition to deadbolt locks. If you can't hit someone once in eight tries, perhaps you shouldn't own a gun in the first place.

  • No, guns equal freedom.

No, laws should not be passed to limit gun ownership further, because gun ownership is a very important part of freedom. With guns, people can defend themselves. There are already laws in place to keep guns out of the wrong hands. Even banning guns would not prevent certain people from getting them. More laws would not help, and would prevent people from defending themselves.

  • Gun Owners Are On Edge

I do not believe it would be a good idea to pass more laws that would further limit gun ownership. People of America have often utilized their right to own firearms and even the mere hint of taking that right away makes them nervous. Guns are not inherently bad and restricted them through laws will only create a larger black market for them.

  • The Right to Arm Yourself

I think everyone should have the right to own a gun. If anything, more laws should be passed to make it easier to obtain ownership of a gun. Most of the misuse and gun violence is not because the person had better access to a gun, but because their personal desire to have the gun was already present. If we put more laws on owning a gun, it would be even harder for the people to protect themselves from individuals who abuse the already standing laws.

  • No more laws

Gun ownership is protected by our rights in the constitution. We should be able to own whatever weapons that we want. I do believe that not all guns should be allowed to be conceal and carry, but we should be able to own any guns that we want and no one should pass laws to effect that.
