Harm reduction drug policy: Should the focus of drug policies be placed on harm reduction?

  • The focus of drug policies should be placed on harm reduction.

The focus of drug policies should be placed on harm reduction. I believe this because their are a lot of other offenders out there that are not on drugs. We are filling our court systems and jails with meaningless offenders and patting ourselves on the back for it. Instead, we need to open room for the serious offenders instead of overcrowding our jails.

  • Illegal Drugs Burden Criminal Justice System

Recreational drug use, especially with marijuana, hinders America's criminal justice system. Instead of focusing on the bad things drugs do to people's brains, try lessening their effects and treating only the most serious abusers. Keep citizens out of jail and put them in rehab where they can do the most good. Reducing harm of drugs by regulating them and making them legal is a better idea than clogging jails for no reason.
