Has America's foreign policy, whether peaceful or warmongering, always focused on maintaining its status as superpower?

  • Yes, America is imperialist.

Yes, America's foreign policy, whether peaceful or warmongering has always focused on maintaining its status as superpower, because America's foreign policy is schizophrenic. If we don't want to be involved, we say we will sit back and let people exercise their right of self-determination. If we do want to be involved, we say that people are suffering and need our help.

  • And that's not bad.

It enforce Hegemony, which is good. Without one nation holding Hegemony, arms races and massive power conflicts occur.

Another issue is that the US became a Superpower, and then a Megapower. If it loses that status, it would leave a massive power vacuum, and ignite every possible Arms Race that it's Hegemony had been preventing.
