  • The war on terror isn't something that can be successful or unsuccessful.

The war on terror is just that, a war against terrorists. People who follow their religion and go to extreme measures for said religion. Going to war with Al Qaeda and ISIS has many casualties, but the casualties would be far greater and would make civilian life worse than a soldier's life. Never knowing when a bomb-carrier might come out from a subway, never knowing when an area might be shot up, never knowing if you will survive until tomorrow. Without the war on terror, we would be in a war with survival.

  • Need to combat

Plain and simple: Anyone that thinks terrorism will be eradicated by a war on terror is a fool. I would hate to think of the atrocities that may have occurred had we not started this war. Yes, you can argue that attrocities have been committed in the middle east by coalition forces and some of the methods conducted in some of those regions could have been done a little bit better. But if we had the advantage of hind sight ofr 911 in the year 2000, woudn't you want something to be done about it?

  • The war was on terror and not development of terrorist havens into democracy and then step out

I see the major focus here needs to be "War on terror", that's Terrorists & their leadership. Alqueda had spread its tentacles from Canada and Europe through its sleeper cells and has established camps in from Syria thru Pakistan thru Myanmar to Indonesia. Not to forget Uighur's in China. During the 90's laden was in Syria developing Chemical weapons and simultaneously indoctrinating thousands of innocent muslim's across these regions as fodder for his JIhadi bofors.

The war on terror was to specifically on these heads of the snake and I think US needs to be applauded for their effort.

Now that US is stepping out, lets wait and watch whether the shaky Afghan army or if the struggling Pakistan be able to stabilize it. The war on terror was a specific task oriented move.

To totally take the ideology out, development is required and in that the world needs to participate. Its not just US's responsibility.

Total eradication is a long term target. Now its to wait and watch of how procrastinators of "war on terror "are willing to rebuild peace and development, bcos resistance by blowing up infrastructure would be fairly reduced in these areas.

  • Yes, the war on terror has been extremely successful

The war on terrorism is not about fighting a specific country or army or even militia. The war on terror is a war that will never end, it was never meant to. Declaring war on an intangible object such as "terror" allows you to invade countries, steal resources, and strip freedoms in the name of defending our country. The "terror watch list" has over 1 million Americans on the list. This list isn't made public, so you may be on the list without even knowing. The war on Terror was what tricked Americans into approving legislation that now allows warrant-less searches and wiretapping. Has the war on terror made us safer? Absolutely not. Did it get resources, power, and money for the 1%? You bet your tax dollars.

  • Following the crowd

I followed the crowd as I haven't really got a clue on what I'm talking about. Really I'm just mumbling a load of rubbish. However, if I had to have a decision on whether it was successful or not I would say no because there is still terrorism in todays society. I conclude that I am right and everybody should agree.

  • Were still fighting

If war on terror was successful why are we still fighting now when the war on terror was started 14 years ago? The war was started in October 7 2001. Now its 2015 and were still discussing terrorism and how we may go into another world war with other countries.

  • The war on terror was nothing but a failure

The war on terror killed more than 200,000 thousands and because of that they say that Americans are the bad guys. The war costed America about 1.6 trillion dollars and it didn't do no good to anyone, what if those money were spent on helping people instead of killing them?
