House, Senate reach a budget deal: Is the new deal adequate?

  • No responses have been submitted.
  • The new budget deal is not adequate.

The new budget deal is not adequate. Like many things this divided Congress does, the new budget deal hardly does anything to improve the government. Every one is promising change within the government, but literally nothing is happening. However, it is remarkable that Congress got a budget deal passed, so we need to be thankful for the little victories.

  • It Spends Too Much Money

The Congressional Budget Office has posited that at current levels, spending on debt service alone will consume more than 90% of the United States' gross domestic product by 2030. That means 9 out of every 10 cents of economic activity generated will have to be paid toward debt service. We are bankrupting our children and politicians refuse to make any meaningful change to the status quo.
