For such a close game against their opponent, a healthy Przemek Karnowski probably would have made the difference. Not only that, Karnowski has been out of play for quite some time, leaving his team to adjust to his absence a long time ago. He was a strong player that played intelligently, and with a good shooting percentage. He was missed by his team in the NCAA playoffs.
While losing Przemek Karnowski to a season ending back injury was bad news for the Gonzaga Bulldogs it wasn't the only bad news they've been working through. They also lost 3 of their 5 starters near the beginning of the season as well as most of the rest of the team members and leaders over the course of the season.
i believe the loss of Przemek Karnowski was crucial has not had a significant effect on how Gonzaga has played. They have wont heir first two games against opponents that were favored to beat them. While I am sure this has hurt the tea in some ways, i certainly do not think that Gonzaga has had a poor showing by any means.
No, I do not believe that the loss of Przemek Karnowski factored in the poor NCAA tournament showing, because Gonzaga is on Sweet Sixteen despite being an 11-ranked seed. Gonzaga easily defeated Seton hall and Utah and seem to be doing well despite the loss of their big man in the post. Kyle Wiltjer and Domantas Sabonis are playing great and seem poised to take the Bulldogs to the promised land.
