How much time off should people have for bereavement of a lost loved one?

  • A month or so

People should be able to take as much time as they need, as long as it's reasonable. A month or so is probably fine, depending on the job. If it's a physical job they can probably manage it better than a mental one, as physical effort distracts from the pain of losing a loved one.

  • People should have at least a week off

I think people should have at least a week off because it takes is very difficult to cope with a losing a family member. It would give them time to prepare a funeral and recouperate. Many times it takes families a while to adjust to losing an integreal part of the family.

  • Minimum One Week after a Loved one is Lost

Usually, the loss of a loved one is unavoidable. Everyone has parents and that means at some point, they will pass away. While not everyone is close with their families or loved ones, an optional week of personal time should be offered in compensation for a loss of a loved one.
