  • Yes he is both

See he was a great man who matters today in both science and art because he gave us ideas even though his notebook was secret, it was still helpful in building the auto mobile as well as the helicopter. He was also a grand artist, who said he cant be both?

  • Literal Renaissance Man

Leonardo Da Vinci was a literal Renaissance Man who mastered the time in which he lived. Da Vinci was well-read, well-studied and well-connected. He invented machines that cannot be duplicated today. Da Vinci's drawings of a helicopter inspired modern-day technology. He is also known for his art, but Da Vinci's contributions to science are immeasurable.

  • Leonardo Da Vinci was an artist but not an inventor.

Leonardo Da Vinci's works of art are famous today, but he was never known as a scientist in his day. Although he invented a lot of machines, he kept them secret in his notebooks. Today, scientists publish their materials and share them with others. Da Vinci was not a true inventor because he was not part of the scientific community of his day.
