If a Software 'Patch' Is Installed, Are Electronic Voting Machines Re-tested prior to Being Used on Election Day?

  • they should be

First of all this sounds like a question for the people who actually do that type of work but it does make sense they should take all precautions that they possibly can due the extreme importance of the matter at hand because they should want to be safe than sorry.

  • This needs to be a standard.

As it stands now, there is no universal or national standards for electronic machines. If the machines are patched, I think it's absolutely essential that trusted security professionals retest them before they're used in an election. The ability to manipulate these machines and get away with it is too tempting for too many people, and since these machines are the future of voting they need to be secured.
