If nobody remembers an event, did the event actually happen?

  • One Word: Physics

As we, Humans are a very forgetful species we tend to forget thing, events, or periods of existence
but Nature does not and to answer this question the answer also answers the tree falling in the forest question; Yes, Because physics does not require an observer in the fact nature does what it wants and we are just along for the ride.

  • Yes, just like history

Yes, the universe carries on without humans, or any other cognitive animals, present on it. By saying the events did not occur because nobody remembers them is like saying history never occurred because nobody alive is present to remember it. To believe that the universe revolves around humans, or again other cognitive animals, is an egocentric view of the world.
