Best Buy will always do better than Amazon, because the store has grown from a brick and mortar electronics department store, into a major player in the online sales market. Also, their trade and buyback program and digital content sales for things like video games and video game hardware, have grown exponentially.
Electronics retailer Best Buy is headed for the exits. I can’t say when exactly, but my guess is that it’s only a matter of time, maybe a few more years. Consider a few key metrics. Despite the disappearance of competitors
including Circuit City, the company is losing market share. Its last
earnings announcement disappointed investors.
Although Best Buy offers some amazing deals, Amazon can beat their prices every time and when it comes down to it, money is the bottom line for most people. The only thing that Best Buy offers that Amazon doesn't is customer service and a more personalized experience. In the end, Amazon will be more successful.
Amazon offers a handful of more products than Best Buy, meaning that in most cases, Amazon would hold much better. Best Buy doesn't offer things like free shipping on most of it's items unless you are a member, where Amazon offers the choice of free super saver shipping when spending a certain amount on qualifying orders.
