  • AIr travel is safer today than it was in the 1990s thanks to a number of safety features.

One of the main safety measures put in place has been the security of the cockpit. On large passenger airlines the doors to the cockpit are kept locked to ensure terrorists or drunken fools cannot obtain access to the pilots. Also, investigations into airline crashes mean that they learn from past mistakes and this increases safety.

  • Yes, air travel is safer today.

Air travel is much safer today than it was in the 1990s. That decade was subject to many high-profile airline crashes that killed many passengers. Luckily, airplane crashes have become less frequent in recent years; making flying the safest form of travel. Increased competition among airlines has put more pressure on flight safety.

  • More Stringent Security

Air travel is safer today compared to the 1990s simply because security is tighter. There aren't nearly as many plane hijackings now as compared to the 1980s and 1990s, even in foreign countries and with foreign carriers. Unfortunately, one major issue facing airlines today are their own pilots. A German pilot rammed a passenger jet into a mountainside, killing everyone on board. Meanwhile, the MH370 pilot plotted a course for the Indian Ocean before take off, and that killed everyone on board, too. Terrorists keep shooting down planes flying over Syria and Egypt, so the problem isn't from within the passenger cabin of a commercial jetliner.

  • Advances in technology have made air travel safer.

Today's planes are safer than they've ever been and can practically fly themselves. Landing and take-off equipment is far more advanced and sensors and diagnostic equipment are used more extensively than they were in the 1990s. Today's pilots are screened far more thoroughly than they were in the 1990s. Air traffic control systems have also undergone great improvements that make air travel safer.

  • I do not think so.

There is alot of technology .Yes that is true. But pilots are starting to rely only on computers which also makes mistakes if given wrong data by the pilots. Also some pilots, not all are complacent. They might think it is okay to gom for a nap because there is the computer to take care of that. That is when there will be mistakes. The pilot must on full awarness of what is going on so that they can correct the mistakes. Alll in all technology is here to make lives safer but we should not slack because of that.
