Is America too involved in other countries' affairs?

  • We are not appreciated for what we do

I have lived abroad for a year and I have noticed how people do care at all about how much the US has helped them and actually blame us for doing too much., These people don't understand that we save every country in some way when something happens.. WE almost give tons of money to everything's, we saved WW2, we constantly are, protecting other countries with troops even if there is not a war. We are like the policeman of the world but people don't realize it. We do the things that other countries never do, we fight terrorism , etc.. And I think that people don't care enough and we should leave them by themselves

  • Needles are cool

People don't understand the necessity of needles. They are everywhere and are typically used on a regular day basis. America is a lot like a needle. Everybody needs us. We are a drug to some countries. Much like how a heroin addict needs his needle to get the job done, Spain needs us to inject heroin into their government. And yeah.

  • America can't and shouldn't be trying to fix all the world's problems.

America as a nation has it's own problems, resources need to be turned inward to solve the problems on Americas own soil before worrying about shipping time, money, and other resources abroad. Sure, it's easy to say that if the U.S. doesn't go around policing the world everything will go to chaos, but the U.S. will not be able to continue policing the world if it doesn't clean up at home first. The longer national problems go unfixed and unchecked the harder it will be in the future to take care of such things. Not only that but if recourse are emptied fighting other nations wars, eventually the U.S. will run out of money, weapons, and other resources and won't be able to fight other nations wars. What happens then? Well, the U.S. will be caught vulnerable, unable to support itself, and not only in debt to but inescapably caught up in other nations wars and petty conflicts. Now of course this is a way of in the future extreme, but America is increasingly becoming a nation of slow progress and needs to start changing it's policing habits now and not later.

  • Why don't you worry about your own self?

USA believes they have the need to help the other nations! I think that is great… until a certain point. You can't get involves in everybody´s problems at once. You may want to be a peace maker or a pace promoter, but that can not also affect others, it can also affect you in a certain point. If the USA keeps putting their noses in other countries affairs without not even been asked to, they are going to end up one day with nothing

  • What about the Vietnam war?

USA is consistently known for its interference between different countries affairs and it needs to stop, they just end up making everything much more worse than it actually is for example the Vietnam war which lasted for around 15 years due to USA getting involved and now they want to get involved with Syria, in which they will kill many innocent life's just like they did in Iraq and Afghanistan.

  • Isn't this why 9/11 happened?

We need to worry about bettering our own country before trying to play protector to other weaker countries who can't defend themselves. That's essentially the reason why 9/11 happened, because we made a bunch of enemies from being too damn nosy and getting involved in things that don't concern us.

  • Yes, we need to take a step back.

We are so nosy and we need to stop. We have to give other countries a chance to defend themselves we should take a step back and think about how we should improve our country. We are spending too much money on the military because we are too involved we need think about our citizens.

  • Yes, we need to worry more about us

Our country puts it's nose into every other country's business even when it has no effect on our country. If we focused half as much on our country and the problems here and used the money spent on military in other countries, we would not be hurting as much. Instead we are fighting different wars in different countries while our country is slowly failing.

  • We Spread Ourselves WAY Too Thin

America is constantly trying to spread our ways to other countries- most of the time by getting involved in their affairs. We put SO much time, money and effort into them (whether our ways work for them or not, America doesn't care!) that we're not taking care of things here at home.

  • No, if we do not secure our interests worldwide, we will become isolated

At the risk of being called the world police, America should continue to be involved in other countries as our interests are threatened. The political policy is first and foremost the avenue to work with other nations. If we do not give our opinion in the world theater, we lose the power to persuade and influence countries to follow our democratic model.

  • No, I don't think so.

I think that there are some things that we should stay out of as a country. There are also some wars that we should not have started or become involved in. There are legitimate times where I think it is appropriate to get involved with the affairs of other countries. We shouldn't stand by and watch a country harming their citizens and we should help other countries when a catastrophe strikes.
