Is America too involved in other countries' affairs?

  • We are not appreciated for what we do

I have lived abroad for a year and I have noticed how people do care at all about how much the US has helped them and actually blame us for doing too much., These people don't understand that we save every country in some way when something happens.. WE almost give tons of money to everything's, we saved WW2, we constantly are, protecting other countries with troops even if there is not a war. We are like the policeman of the world but people don't realize it. We do the things that other countries never do, we fight terrorism , etc.. And I think that people don't care enough and we should leave them by themselves

  • Needles are cool

People don't understand the necessity of needles. They are everywhere and are typically used on a regular day basis. America is a lot like a needle. Everybody needs us. We are a drug to some countries. Much like how a heroin addict needs his needle to get the job done, Spain needs us to inject heroin into their government. And yeah.

  • The US should focus on their own problems.

We are constantly butting in on topics that have no effect on us, even though we have problems of our own that we should be dealing with. I mean 9/11 wouldn't have even happened had we not had the American intervention in the Middle East which was the main motivation behind the 9/11 attacks.

  • Troops are sent to die

Sending military troops fighting wars that dont need to befighted just cause george bush is stupid and didnt actually win the presidency vote. We need our troops for our country not fighting wars that will never end. This is what i think, dont judge me. I dont have a person in the military that iknow but i know people

  • We Americans lack historical & cultural knowledge of other nations.

Becoming involved in other nations civil wars or problems is very expensive not just from monetary standpoint but also the lives that are lost (both the foreigners and of course us). What I have noticed more than anything else we American lack historical & cultural understanding of many of the nations we get tangled in. i.e. I was totally against the Vietnam war. The reason most Vietnamese (> 80%) were peasants & illiterate and really do not comprehend what Democracy is. They only care about their little in the village ... Farming & feeding the family. I know this because my own mother was like that. She & folks like her do not care or have the understanding what Democratic society means.

  • America is not a complete superpower.

It is not America's place to get involved. We shouldn't be guiding or dictating what other countries decide. We need to let them figure it out on their own. Only when world war may seem imminent is it okay. And it shouldn't begin with war. It should be about talking first.

    War vs Peace

Our World is on the edge of a 3rd World War. USA and other European countries are starting to intervene in many countries militarily for different reasons. China and Russia have warned USA and the European coalition that they are acting against them, China warned USA that by invading Pakistan, USA is declaring open war against China because Pakistan is a protectorate State for China, similar to Israel - USA.

USA have sent drones in Syria and Russia considers this as a provocation from the USA.

If this 3rd World War is happening, i am afraid this might be the End.

So how much is War worth if it ends up irradiating everyone ?
How can we "the pacifists" prevent this from happening ?

What can we do ? What should we do ?

I am afraid this War is played only for private interests from corporations, and this is sad. There are currently a Peaceful Revolution in some country in Europe, a pacific Revolution where the people tries to bring justice while no medias are reporting the events except for a few self-improvised underground internet media teams.

So it is quite clear that even massive marches against those wars will not be broadcast in the media.

So what do you think we should do, go to War and die from radiation or if we're lucky we'd be burned right away from the explosion without suffering ?

  • America continues to poke it's nose into other countries affairs. How can we make any money? Remember, there is no money in peace, only war.

  • America can't and shouldn't be trying to fix all the world's problems.

America as a nation has it's own problems, resources need to be turned inward to solve the problems on Americas own soil before worrying about shipping time, money, and other resources abroad. Sure, it's easy to say that if the U.S. doesn't go around policing the world everything will go to chaos, but the U.S. will not be able to continue policing the world if it doesn't clean up at home first. The longer national problems go unfixed and unchecked the harder it will be in the future to take care of such things. Not only that but if recourse are emptied fighting other nations wars, eventually the U.S. will run out of money, weapons, and other resources and won't be able to fight other nations wars. What happens then? Well, the U.S. will be caught vulnerable, unable to support itself, and not only in debt to but inescapably caught up in other nations wars and petty conflicts. Now of course this is a way of in the future extreme, but America is increasingly becoming a nation of slow progress and needs to start changing it's policing habits now and not later.

  • Why don't you worry about your own self?

USA believes they have the need to help the other nations! I think that is great… until a certain point. You can't get involves in everybody´s problems at once. You may want to be a peace maker or a pace promoter, but that can not also affect others, it can also affect you in a certain point. If the USA keeps putting their noses in other countries affairs without not even been asked to, they are going to end up one day with nothing

  • No, if we do not secure our interests worldwide, we will become isolated

At the risk of being called the world police, America should continue to be involved in other countries as our interests are threatened. The political policy is first and foremost the avenue to work with other nations. If we do not give our opinion in the world theater, we lose the power to persuade and influence countries to follow our democratic model.

  • No, I don't think so.

I think that there are some things that we should stay out of as a country. There are also some wars that we should not have started or become involved in. There are legitimate times where I think it is appropriate to get involved with the affairs of other countries. We shouldn't stand by and watch a country harming their citizens and we should help other countries when a catastrophe strikes.
