Whenever I watch any debate, Obama obviously more intelligent (Romney probably my most respected opponent because he's smart too), more confident, and knows what the heck he's talking about. Eight years of financial fiasco by Bush requires years to change to momentum. Obama did great, saved the auto industry but let them go bankrupt first to go through real restructuring, he values education, healthcare. What you are blinded from is that a good percentage of those taxes are to help schools, something we TRULY need. How do we expect to prosper if we do not even take a chance to contemplate the fact that if we want to succeed as a nation, we need to support the source? The source is the younger generation! The schools! We need to improve the schools, but if you do not pay a few more cents of tax, we will not reach our goal to become a successful country. The drop-out rates are outstanding, the funny "coincidental" conclusion is that most of those who argue against raising taxes to support schools are those who dropped out due to a lack of good education.

Obama is a good president because of his track record.
1. He was the first president to achieve health insurance for all Americans, many tried before, none has ever succeeded.
2. He inherited a country that was fighting two very expensive wars, one of which he ended, the other he is in the process of doing so.
3. He inherited a country that was in a diabolical economic condition, with unemployment soaring. His economic policies are now starting to bear fruit and the numbers out of work are now falling.
4. Security in the US has never been better, no attacks on US soil have occurred during his presidency.
5. His special forces found and "took out" the leader of Al Qaeda, Osama Bin Laden.
6. Obama has never lied to congress like GW Bush, Nixon or Clinton did, and there has never been any blemishes to be proven about his private life, or his character. Many things have been claimed about him in what can only be described as an orchestrated smear campaign by right wing media and extremists.
7. Obama has repaired so much of the damage caused to US international reputation by the Bush administration's breech of the Geneva convention on torture.
8. Obama has never dressed in army uniform, and used phony military jargon to agitate the American public like Bush junior did. Such things are way beneath his intelligence, or his belief in the intelligence of the American public .
9. Obama is serious about pollution and the changing climate. His energy reform policies show this. He is fully aware of how global warming will effect future generations. The Republicans swept all these problems under the carpet, even backing oil companies claims that more CO2 means a greener planet !
10. Obama can do nothing about Guantanamo Bay, so bad was the mess that the GW Bush administration left the USA in regarding this situation.

A lot of Republicans seem to be putting our economic pace (or lack of) onto Obama. The fact is that in his first two years of president, Obama saved us from a free fall, with the economy slowly (but surely) recovering, Obama decided to concentrate his power on social issues. The reason we haven't seen much progress is because of the House Republicans do not compromise on anything (by republicans I mean Tea Party Republicans, not the real, fiscally conservative and socially neutral republicans).

Obama came into office when we were losing 800,000 jobs a month. We had over 10,000,000,000,000 dollars in debt, and a 1,200,000,000,000 dollar deficit. Not to mention that we were engaged in two wars, one of which was started in order to kill someone who turned out not to be there and the other of which was initiated in Iraq to get rid of weapons that Iraq didn't have.
Obama has unpopped the housing bubble, stabilized the unemployment rate, saved the auto industry, decreased the deficit, killed Osama bin Laden, and pulled our troops out of Iraq, where they were dying daily for a cause that had already been served, if it ever existed.
No one is saying that America is improving by leaps and bounds. We're not trying to pretend Obama's a magician. But we are saying that he's pulled our economy out of the biggest crisis since the Great Depression, and that's a pretty impressive feat. After all, Roosevelt got four terms, and Obama's only had one.
Let's not go back to the policies that got us into this mess in the first place. There are many people saying things like "Obama has not delivered on his promises", "He's not making changes where it counts", etc. They're overlooking the fact that the President can't pass laws by himself. They have to be approved by Congress and the public. There are still a great many conservatives (mostly Republicans) that strongly oppose the changes you want. He can't make the changes if a majority doesn't agree on them. Obviously they don't want things like higher taxes for the upper class (which they are mostly a part of), which is why there is so much opposition to the increase in taxes.

Obama knows what these law makers are going to do before they do it because he was once one of them. He is doing his best, and he has gone out of his way to make peace with the enemies. The days to fight will come if comes to it. But right now, we need to regroup as a country and direct all those war funds to our country. I am a soldier, and when I did the math on how many of my comrades died in Afghanistan and Iraq alone, I came up with almost 4 billion dollars. Bush did in fact push debt onto our shoulders. Obama has in fact spent a significant amount of money. But what more can you expect? Don't you need money to fix an economic depression? You cannot wreck a car and expect to only pay what you paid last month to cover the damages. If you're in debt, you cannot pay what you owed three months ago and be in the clear. When there is a problem, more than usual, you're going to have to pay more than you invested in the beginning. Take the infamous stock market crash, for example; those people who invested in stocks, those who used loans to help pay for their stocks, when the market crashed, those people did not get refunds. The bank was overcrowded with Americans, after a short period, the bank had to close down because there was no money. People began looking to the government and president Hoover for direct aid, something Hoover did not believe in. The government didn't have enough for fair distribution of direct aid to those Americans who demanded it. The government had only the money that came from taxes, the people themselves. The government cannot make its own money. The moral of this event in history and its relation to today's problem is that how can we expect to receive money from the president, when the president only has the people's money. The president cannot make his own money appear out of thin air. This is America's money. After the stock market crash, it took many years of suffering to repair the economy. Bush's reign is exactly like the crash in forms of economic depression, Obama is in the exact situation Hoover was many years ago. Obama is stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Overall, I like what he represents. As for those who don't like him, they seem to be unfair about judging him. The main problems with our economy began with George Bush, NOT Obama. Bush passed the Patriot Act, which basically allowed the overreach of government into your private life, and gave so many tax cuts to the wealthy, that they got greedy and outsourced American jobs to maximize their profits and crap on the rest of us. Obama has had the difficult task of working with a divided House with Republican majority, and a huge deficit CREATED by the Bush tax cuts after he raided the federal SURPLUS while he (Bush) was in office. To be honest I voted for him but I did not know which way the stimulus gambit would go. When Europe decided to cut spending, the United States increased spending. Europe is in the toilet and our economy is rebounding big time, lifting world markets. We've learned, when times are good, you need to cut spending, and when times are bad you increase it. The stock market has broken all time records, the housing market is coming back, Detroit can't turn out cars fast enough. You will not be denied a medical procedure because of a pre-existing condition and affordable health care we will no longer be the only country in the world where pregnancy is the number one cause of bankruptcy once Affordable Health Care gets into full swing.

He believes in education and supports the educators and school children.
He passed health care for all not just the privileged few. He cares about women's right to choose. He is for human rights. Cares about the environment. He is trying to pass gun control.
These are just a few of the accomplishments in spite of the constant obstructionism coming from the conservative right. There is hatred coming from the Right and I believe there are seeds of racism driving that hatred. The Republican party has always been about big business and "trickle down" on us middle class working people.

I won't pretend that he's the best president. Obama has had a lot of problems, and ignoring those would be irrational. But Obama has done what he could given the situation. Obama-care as many call it has been passed, and to be sure, it's flawed, but it does more good than harm and represents a step in the right direction. The Patient Protection and Affordability act would really be a good presentation of Obama's policies as a whole, flawed in some ways, but moving forward. He's withdrawn most of the troops from Iraq, and we have a set plan to get out of Afghanistan. I won't say that he killed Osama Bin Laden all on his own with no help from anyone else, but he did give the final go-ahead for that, and deserves some credit. He passed the stimulus which also helped prevent a massive depression. The Republicans in Congress oppose him fanatically, and that explains a lot of current problems. So, basically, to sum it up, Obama's flawed, but he's a step in the right direction.

I really appreciate Barack Obama. Of all the presidents that we've had, and as bad as our foreign relations have been in the past (he's never had shoes thrown at him at appearances, for example), he always seems to keep his cool and maintains a professional face at all times. In terms of doing his job as president, my opinion is that he does it, and well. I'm sure that in years to come, we will find out progressively more about what President Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama, has done for this country. He isn't perfect, but he is certainly respectable.

The moral of this event in history and its relation to today's problem is that how can we expect to receive money from the president, when the president only has the people's money. The president cannot make his own money appear out of thin air. This is America's money. After the stock market crash, it took many years of suffering to repair the economy. Look at his record. It is astonishingly good, especially when the Republican house has fought tooth and nail against everything he attempts. Passing Healthcare and the stimulus was huge. Most people I've seen say Obama is doing a bad job say that it is because of the public health care scheme or because of other reasons that don't seem to matter that much. When Australia got public health care, a lot of people disagreed with it because they didn't want to pay more taxes. Now most people realise it is a good thing even though public hospitals are pretty bad it allows people to get health care that wouldn't be able to afford it otherwise. Also, he can only do as well as the greedy, rich, conservative pigs of America allow him to do. His hands are tied. Obama can't control the economy single-handedly. That is out of his control. I think I can understand his posture. The one thing I don't like is not ending the war on drugs, Every day I live in fear that I'm going to get locked up for smoking a joint as opposed to eating AtivansTM ( bought from doctor)which when I was taking them i became dependent and when it was time to get off I had terrible withdrawal(read you can die from the withdrawal). I like the fact that he is reforming this stupid health care system, I have to pay $200 out of my pocket for some cheap pill. These doctors see me for literally 5 minutes (if that) I tell them I'm fine take my blood pressure and I hand over $80 They give me a script. The medication is about $125 give or take. The nasty bickering and refusals to work together that go on in this country are disgraceful. President Obama has continued to serve with utmost integrity and dignity in the midst of it. He inherited an economy on the brink of total chaos and disaster, and has managed to keep us from going over the edge of potential horror. The BP oil spill, domestic disasters, political climate, and international crisis have held back accomplishing his dreams. He is working hard to put our country on the right track. Though his first term had flaws, one must expect this because he became President immediately after an economic disaster. His second term has started very well and we have many reasons to be optimistic. Congress is slightly improving. Obama even made his first international trip of this term to Israel. He is firm against Iran and N.K. Over 200,000 jobs have been added in the 4th quarter, and the number keeps increasing. Unemployment is going down. More and more politicians are learning about the potential for "Obamacare". Though Obama failed to choose a decent Secretary of Defense, he did choose an excellent Secretary of State. This is now the second time he has done this. Obama is trying to do all he said he would. He promised the stock market would improve, and the Dow reached record numbers just a week ago. All the markets fared well yesterday as well. General Motors is producing some of its best cars in decades, and revenues have skyrocketed. The same goes for Chrysler and Ford. Obama has pushed very hard for gun control, and an agreement is plausible. Obama still has four more years to further prove himself, and I am sure he will continue to put our nation on the right track. This man is doing better than every other candidate could have dreamed of. Support Obama. He is our ticket to success.

With the passage of the affordable health care act, Barack Obama has taken a step only LBJ has ever attempted, trying to bring fair treatment to individuals who require both short and long term healthcare. What many tend to forget about, when it comes to this issue, is the significance; not only for our nation as a whole, but every single person that makes up it. With our current system the way it is people are dying due to sicknesses from diseases easily preventable if only they had insurance to pay for treatment. And even for some of those that have insurance, when they are declined a claim for treatment due to it not being "cost beneficial" to the insurance company; THAT IS INFRINGEMENT ON ONE OF OUR NATURAL RIGHTS, said not only in the constitution, but in the Declaration of Independence as well!!! OUR RIGHT TO LIFE, I don't know about you, but living in a system where an insurance company chooses whether you live or die is NOT FREEDOM according to my definition. Now with the affordable health care act enacted by this Kenyan socialist of a president (not really) is all for bolstering up our rights in the face of insurance companies, basically leveling the playing field, allowing people to now compare prices between insurance companies (free-enterprise notion), no longer allowing insurance companies to decline a claim because of a pre-existing condition (which should have already been the norm), and lowering the price as well (cause since we will be able to see the prices now, and compare them, the only way for them to compete is to lower them). OF COURSE, this also has some backdrops (as does every plan made in any country with a large population, large demographics, and a wide social ladder, which is us) such as a tax to support the government sponsored system and hired employees to monitor the system, and certain aspects that may take time for our large population to get used too. President Obama understands the American people from his personal life. He cares for all Americans in this way. Yes, there are some bad things, however no president will be able to achieve perfection in all his or her work. He pulled through from Bush's mess, and still is on his feet. We have that change, and now need to continue it.
So, I believe he is a great leader and President for many reasons:
1.) He passed the Affordable Care Act, which provides health coverage to all Americans regardless of their wealth, or rank in American society; a huge step that many Presidents have tried to achieve with a lot of force. He also reformed education, recapitalized banks, and pushed for cleaner skies and climate. All which will help our deficit decrease in the coming years. (The $6.7 trillion in spending mostly comes from Bush's wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, by the way.)
2.) Obama understands failure, and the ability to learn from those mistakes. He take a positive approach at issues; looking to get them done without fear, but with confidence and understanding. The man doesn't speak on a matter unless he is educated on it. He has shown it countless times.
3.) The President took out Osama Bin Laden after much planning, and toppled Moammar Gaddafi. This helped focus America on issues at home; he then ended the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars. This marked an end to useless spending and hurting out diplomacy.
4.) He is a man of compromise. In the budgets he has proposed, they have been balanced, and fair; he even cut some SSC and medicaid benefits to please Republicans on some. He has much trouble in the divided House with all of this, and I respect him on trying countless times despite of this. He understands to drive forward in any situation.
5.) My last reason, but not least, is his great leadership and care for ALL Americans. From gay rights, to middle-class reformation, to letting Americans know they have a voice, to motivating Americans even with all the hatred and name-calling. HE KNOWS HOW TO LEAD. He understands politics need to change and have a common purpose to succeed, as well as understanding government is here to help Americans with jobs, and opportunity. Hew knows the audacity of hope that we need so much.
With these reasons, I conclude that he is doing a great job and will be considered one of the greater Presidents in our history to come. HE IS DOING THE GREATEST JOB HE CAN WITH HIS SITUATION AND SUPPORT. He cares for you, and the interests of the welfare of this country. Thanks for the change, Obama. Obama entered the presidency with a collapsing economy. There was only one thing that he could do as president to stop the economic free fall and that was spending. From the auto bailout to he stimulus he spent. Spending is not optimal but in his situation it was necessary. As a result of the combo of spending and tax breaks (taxes are lowest since Truman) the US economy has gone through a steady recovery. He plans to regulate big business (stabilizing a growing economy) and tax the rich more (so that we can pay down our debt and deficit). Also, most of the debt is to the US treasury. And when you consider all those who are indebted to the US, the debt actually isn't bad at all.

3 - 4 years ago this country was losing hundreds of thousands of jobs every month and the financial system was in a complete meltdown. Under Obama we have now had consecutive months of adding jobs and have toned down the war in Iraq. HOWEVER, he hasnt come even close to matching the speedy recovery he promised when he campaigned in 2008 and we still are far off from fully recovering from the recession at the rate we are going. There is also the issue that when he had full control of the senate and the house he instead focused on reforming healthcare more then the economy which makes him very questionable as a leader

Obama wants to raise taxes on millionaires and make some big spending cuts (specifically in the military) while many GOP candidates believe that our revenue should come from cutting important programs such as social security and medicare. Obama's tax increase plan is projected to receive 4 trillion dollars in revenue within the next decade. Not to mention that increasing taxes has been historically proven to work (50s, 60s, 90s ect) while tax cuts such as the bush tax cuts have cost our government trillions of dollars. Considering the insane mess that Dubya put this country into, it is going to take another term for Pres. Obama to clean up the mess. The problem with this country is that people are not patient. When Obama took office, he had a huge mess created by the George Bush. The economy was in a recession, we were in 2 wars, national debt grew into the trillions. By the end of his first term, the economy rebounded, all combat activity in Iraq ended, and for the first time in over 10 years, the US treasury has been able to pay a portion of the debt. Plus, Osama Bin Laden and many terrorist leaders are dead.

Globally and in the US there is growing fundamentalism (tea party) and history has shown us that this does not mix well with freedoms. With all due respect to the president, he has not been doing his job at all. If he has been doing his job, he has not been doing it correctly, or he is simply put as a bad president, in my opinion. Unemployment rates are currently 7.8%. During his term, the unemployment rate averaged out to 8.86%; in his first 3 years the percentages were mostly between 9 and 10%, meaning that they started to drop during his last year, when he was busy to get reelected (meaning that it was better without him). He says that Republicans started the deficit. That is believed to be true. But as president he failed to prevent it from growing. He believes that taxing the rich would help, but how many rich people are there, exactly? I'll tell you this: not many. Relying on only the rich would be a burden for them, and it would also be insufficient in terms of supporting the economy. Having everyone who is physically able to work should indeed find a job, pay their bills, their appropriate taxes, and have their own proper healthcare. This would have everyone pay to reduce the $16,194,460,900,000 debt. The only problem is that poor people sometimes just don't really want to work. However, one way or another, they know that they will have to in order to support their families, and provide their young with a better education. This will keep the economy growing, and having the people work for family and child support. Obama promised to lower taxes for the middle class, but it clearly shows that he has raised taxes for them (gas prices!!). The only good thing that it clearly shows that he has done for the American people, is getting rid of Osama bin Laden, who caused the 9/11 terrorist attack. However, any other president would have attempted to do the same, assuming that Obama was not elected. Speaking of the war in Iraq, why in the world has he not withdrawn at least a couple of our troops? The war is going to end quite soon, so some troops at least have to stay. But what about the others? So, if Obama did a terrible job, why does he have many followers? The answer is because of ethnic race. Black people support him because he is black, not always because of the ideas he has. 95% of black people supported Obama. The rapper Snoop Dogg says that his top reason of why he supports Obama is because he's black, and not voting for Romney just because he's white. People please, come to your senses. Until a good auditing system gets installed to prevent fraudulent claims, the country is going to go into even more debt by paying off all the people who live off welfare. Yeah there are a lot of people who actually need it, but there are also a lot of people who file because they are too lazy to get a job. I've seen it. The place I work at accepts EBT cards, a woman walks in carrying a coach bag and just hopped out of a Cadillac Escalade and proceeds to pay for her food with and EBT card. Where does all that money she "can't afford to buy food" with go? Maybe in her gas guzzling SUV, maybe it goes towards a new purse, or whatever else is more important to her than supporting herself. She doesn't need a reason to get a job because the government supports her. Yes, Bush may have put us in trillions of dollars of debt, but we've been in debt for a while. But Obama also used it as an opportunity to compel religious employers to provide contraception coverage to their employees. This is a big philosophical departure for US liberalism, which hitherto tended to disagree with but respect Catholic moral theology. By contrast, the President made challenging the Vatican’s position on free love a big part of his re-election drive. This included an alliance with a female student, Sandra Fluke, who wanted her Catholic college to provide contraception coverage worth $1,000 a year – a figure that works out to 6 acts of contra-celibacy per day. Time Magazine considered making her a person of the year, too.
3. He stepped up his war on civil liberties. Obama has increased random searches, indefinite detention, and the power of the state to take control of civil society in the event on an emergency (this list might read like it was compiled by Ron Paul on a liquid liberty high, but even the bit about martial law is horribly true). This year we even discovered that he’s writing a kill list, which may include the names of American citizens. Then there are the drone strikes – essentially war without risk, implicitly targeted at civilian populations. Obama is starting to look like George W Bush, minus the roguish charm.
4. His ego grew another thousand feet. When Americans gathered in December to honour the memory of Hawaii’s Senator Daniel Inouye, they probably expected the President to use his eulogy to talk about the late Democrat's service to America. Both of those are morally wrong, and are against most religions and world views. He is going to (if he hasn’t already) increase minimum wage, which will lower the economy and cause inflation. Obama is taxing the rich, just as an example, Donald Trump. Let's say he has roughly 22,000 employees. Those employees support their children, pay for insurance, taxes, etc. They get their money from whom? Donald Trump. Raising taxes on him will do no good. Donald Trump already pays his own taxes and insurance which means he is losing money. The higher the taxes are, the more he struggles to pay for those things, so he lays off a few employees to help save money. Then he lays off a few more, then more. Those laid-off employees struggle to provide for their families and whatnot, causing them to go broke or fall into the lower class. Therefore, taxing the rich will do no good for anyone. Obama is just trying to make himself look good.

Obama has done very little to help our country. Everything he has done is only because of his ridiculous spending agenda. None of his choices are efficient and productive. His whole solution to getting American back on track lies in forcing people who work hard to pay for those who didn't think they needed to go to college. When the government tries to play Robin Hood and take from the rich and give to the poor, all you get is less rich and more poor. That's an economic fact. He refuses to realize that the government doesn't have a revenue problem, it has a spending problem. The average household takes out 2.5 to 3 times more money in Medicare than they put in. And who pays for that? The hard-working and successful American. This is also exactly what the Speaker of the House keeps trying to get across to our President, but compromise remains a word he can't seem to understand. Just to name a few of the reasons that Obama shouldn't even be considered. He watched Americans getting murdered and denied sending help that could have saved them possibly.
Even a normal American citizen would have done more than Obama did to protect Americans.
I won't even mention that 70% of the total number of deaths in Afghan happened under Obama, since he also didn't do what was necessary to protect them.

When Obama came into office the gas prices were at $1.45 and he blamed Bush for having to bail out GM, Ford and Chrysler. When he suggested ObamaCare it screwed up medicare inside and out. So we will be spending billions in the long run. Also, he accumulated over 5 trillion dollars of debt in just three and a half years. More debt than all forty three presidents combined! Then, guess what? Gas is up to $4.00 and then he blames Bush for that too! Of course on 9/11 Benghazi was breached and the U.S. ambassador was killed. He denies all the questions asked about it. Because he knows more then he should. So if he is reelected your kids and mine will be paying off debt for the rest of our lives just like you and I. So this is why I think President Obama is doing a HORRIBLE job and should be a 1 term president!

He had no Republicans to stop him...and for everything that he did, it was completely outweighed by the consequences it resulted in. Our debt is utterly insane - he has spent more money than Bush did in all of his eight years...and for what? For our so-called "recovery?" That's #1. #2 is Obamacare.. He rejected the Keystone pipeline, which would create thousands of jobs and lower the price of gas. Race thing of the passed. This all sounded good to me but what we got was, even though he had 2 years that his party had complete control over the house and senate. Still blames his lack of accomplishments on anyone but himself.
Promised to cut deficit by 50% instead increased it by 50%.
Reform immigration in my first year. No reform just a in my opinion illegal mandate which is temporary.
He did get his health bill which will be the biggest tax increase in history. Why not he's raised the deficit too record highs in record time, but made sure we don't see what damage it is going to due until after the election.
This list goes on and on class warfare, race card, cooked books on employment.
He has failed!
The latest failure was to protect Americans in Libya. They asked for more security and were denied! Then for a week we get BS about a video being the cause. We have our president apologizing for the video. Maybe if he had not missed 60% of his security briefings he would have know and prevent the loss of life. Instead he goes on blaming a video. Obama was elected due to the fact that he was a black man that was good at presenting ideas rather than executing them. People liked the idea that a black man would be running the country for the first time and he appeared to be a good choice at the time. A few well-known celebrities also supported him, such as Oprah Winfrey. Not to mention the fact that Obama might not be from the U.S. There's a large possibility that he is from Kenya.

The legislation that the president consistently advocates only supports government control. The middle class is eroding due to the combination of the poor economic climate and the continued demand of the middle class to finance the lazy. But this is not the rich get richer and the poor get poorer scenario. The rich may get richer but the poor also get a piece. It is the people that are actually working facing the possibility of losing their rights to people who simply do not care. A rising unemployment level is misleading because it only shows the amount of unemployed people looking for jobs. But jobs have become something of the past with what our government provides. We allow junk food to be bought with EBT cards, which is the less-humiliating version of the food stamp. If you have a child, you can immediately collect government support. If you continue to have children, your paycheck gets bigger. The actual term "poverty" is not the same in America as it is in third-world countries. Less-privileged, developing nations race to find any work in order to prevent starvation. That’s not to say that there should not be any programs enacted to enable the people of this country in need. However, the forced contributions from American taxpayers to cover abortions, expenses for illegal immigrants, the escalating criminal activity, and the perpetuation of a lazy and dependent lower class drag the system down. The government continues to expand and, as long as the people get their bare “necessities”, they are happy (by necessities, I’m referring to television, the Internet, and all other non-essentials). We've become drones and the president is leading us down a dangerous road where merely being content becomes our only reality. Unfortunately, if people’s minds are clogged with all of this distortion the moment of realization might be too late. His reign was not the beginning of this decline but it has marked a significant era in which people have voiced their opinion to let the powers that be make their choices for them.

He is trying to change gun laws instead of just enforcing the ones we already have , and his unconstitutional Affordable Healthcare Act indiscriminately targets small business owners hitting some of them with a 40% tax increase. His disrespect of business owners religious beliefs is also alarming forcing them to provide contraceptives is a violation of the 1st amendment. (If you want to have relations with someone buy your own pills and condoms!) Obama's economic policies stifle growth and make business owners two thirds more likely not to hire workers. He was a horrible Illinois Senator which was why I voted against him and George W. Bush back in 2004. He opposed the Illinois version of the Born Alive Infant Protection Act and related bills that mandated medical care be given children surviving late-term abortions. We weren't able to outlaw the murder of children outside the womb here in Illinois until he left for the U.S. Senate. Furthermore, he used present votes to keep Illinoisans from knowing their senators were voting against medical care for newborn children, and spearheaded the Planned Parenthood effort to cover it up. As the head of the IL Planned Parenthood Council, Pam Sutherland, acknowledged, "What it did was give cover to moderate Democrats who wanted to vote with us but were afraid to do so . A ‘present’ vote would protect them. Your senator voted ‘present.’ Most of the electorate is not going to know what that means."
He was one of the most corrupt politicians in Illinois. He used political tricks to knock off 3 different political opponents, Alice Palmer, Jack Ryan, and Blair Hull. He had a team of lawyers including a fellow Harvard Law school grad challenge Alice Palmer's petition signatures to run for office after the filing deadline, and those of the other 3 opponents in his initial 1996 election. He used technicalities in the petition signatures of all 4 opponents and a corrupt judge who denied appeals to keep the voters from having a choice so he could run unopposed. He struck a deal with the IL Senate leader Emil Jones to make him a U.S. Senator in 2003, then had the divorce files of both his opponents Jack Ryan and Blair Hull in 2004 unsealed so their campaigns imploded after both were leading him in the polls.
Obama may be socially liberal but on economics and foreign policy he is strikingly similar to George W. Bush as observed by CNN in 2008 with the article "Obama and Bush are not so far apart," they share 20 similarities per the article. He's continued the same policies Bush was criticized for and in some cases taken them a step farther. He's reauthorized the Patriot Act 3 times and kept Guantanamo open despite his promises. He actually contacted the Iraq government twice to let troops stay in Iraq and was refused. He then took credit for the troop withdrawal caused by Bush's 2008 Status of Forces Agreement. His Obamacare initiative is actually very similar to Bush's massive Medicare expansion in 2003, the largest expansion of Medicare in history to that point since the program's founding. I'm upper-class and young, but I have worked four minimum wage jobs so far, and in EVERY job vast majority of young men just smoke large amounts of marijuana. Employment reporting from the BLS is questionable. It may actually reflect a shift from full-time to part-time employment. It's possible this was an unintended consequence of Obamacare. Unemployment is at 7.8% as reported, but real unemployment is probably twice that.
If all you do is sit and sigh admiringly while Obama speaks, then you have no one to blame for the condition of this country than yourself. Spend the time to research the facts behind the talk.

If the measures Obama has taken allegedly to stop the crisis then these measures were ineffective. He borrowed and printed enormous sums of money to turn things around but not only did things not get better, they got worse. Under these circumstances the questions is permitted if the measures taken by Obama to cure our economic malaise were the equivalent of giving castor oil to a patient with diarrhea. The entire idea that massive government spending and the creating of government jobs would stimulate private sector economy is fundamentally misguided. Government spending does not create productive private sector job because the money with which they are subsidized must first be taken from others who earned it in the form of taxes or it must be borrowed or printed which both will further stifle the private sector. If one assumes that Obama truly believes that his actions would stimulate the economy one also has to assume that he does not understand the fundamental difference between consumptive and productive spending. Non-consumptive productive jobs can only be created by private business. If we do not assume that Obama does not understand this distinction we are left with the choice to assume that he did what he did on purpose and intentionally with the objective of ruining our capitalist market economy and replacing it with a government controlled centrally planned socialist-type state capitalism, a form of economy that has not only be proven to end up as a system that administers the lack of almost everything for almost everybody except for a affluent nomenclature and that has been proven to be incompatible with individual freedom. Regardless of a president's party, the country's economy will always be the standard for judging his or her success. Even by the most conservative estimates, unemployment remains above the eight percent he said it would not exceed. None of his jobs or stimulus packages have made a significant contribution to the nation's economic growth. However, they have contributed to the growth of government itself and the debt. His presidency has seen the rise of both the Tea Party and the Occupy Wall Street movements. They may be on opposite sides of the political spectrum, but President Obama has done little to attend to their troubles. This country elected a community organizer. Our community is only organized in frustration and fear.

When Obama gave his first Acceptance speech over 4 years ago, I was touched, impressed and so hopeful for the future of this country. But words are not enough to carry a nation into a better state. The actions, the decisions and, most importantly, the statistics are what show if some one is doing the right thing . I'm not saying that Obama is the antichrist. I'm not even saying that Romney would've been a viable alternative. But Obama is far from a good president. Unemployment was getting worse under the bush administration, and got much worse under the Obama administration. Drone strikes started under the bush administration and only got worse under the Obama administration. He cut funding to NASA, which is dumb (NASA has given us all sorts of useful innovative things) because NASA was maybe 2% of the budget. We need to cut spending from the military, social security, and medicare. IT IS GOING TO SUCK FOR THE FIRST THREE YEARS. But "creating" jobs does less than we like to think as far as helping the economy goes. Stimulus just hurts us in the long run. Cutting spending, and letting this work itself out is the only way I see this ending well.

Millions of defense civilians are getting laid off. He is taking money from soldiers, such as our educational benefits. No other president has ever done that. He had only two years of Senate experience before becoming president and never served on any committee, such as the budget committee. I don't care what international polls think or say. I'm the one facing this problem, not them. The hospital I volunteer at absolutely despises Obamacare. There are more lower class people than ever calling 911 just to get a free ride to the hospital and its not because they are actually suffering. Many of them think just because they show up that the doc is going to write them a script and won't even speak to a nurse before the doctor shows up. Which as you all probably know takes a really long time. So now the people who show up by car have to wait even longer because the ambulances get first dibs on a spot in the ER. As a volunteer I do many favors for patients. Last Thursday a Hispanic woman asked me for a chocolate milk shake right before she was admitted to leave. I told her nicely the cafeteria simply doesn't make them and she actually asked the nurses for a supervisor and said that I wasn't meeting her needs. My take on it, she was just mad that she showed up and waited in a bed for hours only to leave empty handed. The nurse was nice and left the room but did a higher authority actually show up? NO. My buddy Steve is suffering with thyroid cancer and went one month without sending the minimum payment. He was dropped from Obamacare for this reason. Isn't the point to relieve those who face these kinds of financial instabilities? Steve is now swamped in medical bills with absolutely no insurance at all. This bill should be called Obamadoesn'tcare. There's a reason why every President before him didn't pass something with their name on it. Because it's bound to fail. For everyone who is using this health plan, take advantage of it now because it will be no longer when his term is up. Hopefully he gets impeached before that and trust me, its in the making. Coming into the presidency during a massive recession, there could have been no one less suited. His only "job" was as a community organizer and it is showing in his performance. The massive stimulus Obama put into place did little to aid in a recovery while costing hundreds of billions of dollars. The 1% growth "recovery" is grounded on artificially low interest rates implemented by the federal reserve that threaten to cause another recession once raised. Nothing Obama has done has been pro business, therefore businesses aren't growing, people aren't spending and the US is in bad shape.

My view of politics stemmed from shows like the “Daily Show” on the comedy channel. However recent event have began to draw my attention and focus. Initially it began with Benghazi, growing up in Southern California I have very close friends in the armed services. When I first heard of the attacks on 9/11 I immediately began to question the narrative I heard on the news. Isn’t it obvious on the anniversary of the largest and most heinous attacks on the U.S. Any attack should be viewed as a potential celebratory attack. I knew if I immediately made the connection logical person would as well. As the event unfolded and I began to see the administrations “dance” to sway public opinion from the obvious, I became disgusted. The arrogance and hubris and disregard for the public’s intelligence has made me really take a look a the actions of this administration. The events of the last few weeks have only highlighted an administration who feels entitled and destined with complete disregard to the American people and their wellbeing is not a priority. Obamacare is ill-conceived and attempts to maintain the prominence of insurance companies. Japan today cancelled food imports because they were found to be genetically-modified. Regardless of population count, whites are now marginalized when all policies promote minorities. He believes that big government is the answer. Soon there will be no one left to fund big government. More than half the states are insolvent. The Federal government is insolvent. No, I don't think he's been effective.

I am utterly shocked that even 41% of AMERICAN people say he is a good president! As a full blown liberal I supported him 110 percent during his first election but after his first term and into his second I learned he was just like the others...A very intelligent liar who takes kickbacks from oil companies, raises taxes, spends stimulus, and engages in multiple scandals! I just don't understand how the American people elected him yet again...He is accomplishing nothing. Wait, no, he did give a speech on how families should stay together (ONE thing he did right). Ran up debt faster than any other president, even when accounting for inflation. Does not respect the constitution; Seized AP phone records, intimidates the press, Bob Wooodward (guy who brought down Nixon) while previously supporting him, has since done a complete 180 and is now highly critical of the man due to his lack of transparency and several intimidating actions he has taken towards the press. Probably was at least partially responsible for Bengazi. Probably used the IRS to attack his political opponents (this is NOT okay) The IRS should not be used as a weapon against one's political opponents, it should be a non partisan organization and not a shakedown squad.

Judging by the statistics from the Bureau of Labor, the number of unemployed have risen since the beginning of Obama's administration. In 2007 and 2008--the main years of the recession--the unemployment percentage lingered between 4 and 5%. Come 2009, that jumps up to 8% and hasn't fallen past 7% yet. We've gone up to 10% and are just now coming down to the 7th percentile. So if you look at things, the unemployment percentage is the same now as it was when Obama first became president.

Obama 's promise to not cut Medicare or Medicaid was a lie. Cuts to these programs are hurting people. Cutting care to the sick, elderly, and terminally ill, is just wrong I don't care how old you are or what your illness is, you are still a human being and your life should be just as important a someone who is young and healthy. That is why we have a health care system is to help people regardless of age, finances, religion, sex, or nationality.
Some one who has paid into Medicare all their life now gets refused life saving treatment and drugs for a possibility of saving their life, because they are older citizens, or have cancer or some other horrible life altering disease. Sounds like the government of our country is only interested in our money and when we get older or sick, they feel that we are useless, so if they cut our health care benefits and regulate what we can and can't get services for, we won't be a burden to society. We shouldn't be told by our government when to give up and die. We are the only ones besides God that should have the right to make that decision.
In an economy where jobs are sparse, food is increasing in cost, and countless number of people are on unemployment, why would our government cut our SNAP and health programs. We send food and money to third world countries in an effort to fight hunger and starvation, and then we let our own children, elderly, disabled, and impoverished citizens starve. What is wrong with this country? What ever happened to governing "for the people and by the people". Our government needs to start worrying when they take food out of the mouths of our future generations, least there be no future generations because our children didn't get the food they so desperately needed to survive to become our future generation. How about President Obama and Congress alike taking cuts in the government itself, instead of imposing cuts to middle and lower income families that are struggling to survive in this forsaken economy that the government themselves created, not the American people. Poor government starts at the top. Unnecessary personal expenditures are at the top of the list as well as doing the job that American people are paying them to do. Stop fighting between parties. Do what's right for the American people and Obama should implement the law that all government officials should not get paid if they can't get the job done! Then let's see how willing hey are to argue. Obama do your job. These are your team members. Step up and take charge, you are the President of the United States! Act like one! Obama hasn't done made any improvements to the two entitlements that are going to make this country go bankrupt, social security and healthcare. The inflation has gone up higher than the growth of the GDP in 3 out of the 4 years he has been in office. Yes the unemployment has gone down but our workforce numbers have dropped too. Still to many people are unemployed or underemployed. Alot of people across this country have blown through their savings in order to survive in this fragile economy. This problem will spread throughout the nation if the country can not get its act together and focus on the longterm problems.

Having imaginary stock go up in value is somehow the best thing ever. It allows ignorant Americans to believe that the country is doing better, despite an increasing national debt that has a policy that ensures future loss. Pretending that the problem doesnt exist seems to be the view of the Obama administration and his supporters. I would love to see somebody counter this argument. President Barack Hussein Obama spent twice as much time on vacation than he did in the White House, which shows that he doesn't care to do his job as president, unwilling to sit down and talk about at least something with John Boehner about the fiscal cliff. He promised to decrease the $9.7 trillion debt when running in 2008. Instead, he nearly doubled it. Starting from the first debate between him and Governer Mitt Romney, Obama claimed that he lowered taxes in the middle class by $3600, but if you would simply google "Did Obama raise taxes on the middle class?" you would easily be able to find articles on how he has increased taxes after making the promise to decrease them. According to a Forbes article, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimated that after Obamacare is implemented, families will see a $15,000 per year just for health insurance, and will rapidly rise. 47 million Americans are on food stamps as of now, but in 2008 there were 32 million Americans. Throwing out all these numbers, I stand here saying that these numbers are unacceptable. It's unacceptable for the taxpayers who will see their paychecks being less than before by about $93 or more, unacceptable for those who keep looking for a job after losing their homes, and most importantly, unacceptable that the President hypocritically blames Republicans and Bush for the problems he is not able to fix himself.
This is my own reminder about any leader of some sort: "If they can't fix problems during their time they are on the job, they are not worthy of doing that job, and it is time to have someone else more qualified. If they fix problems during their time on the job, they are worthy to continue that job if they wish to." This goes the same for Obama. He claims he will fix these problems, and yet has actually moved us backwards. Remembering the numbers introduced and the fact that Obama spends more time on vacation than at work, Obama made a promise to us that he will fix the problems. But he says that he could not fix the problems simply because "Republicans aren't letting me," or "Bush brought us into this," or some other third and utterly random excuse. Let's face it. He is the biggest leader in this country, and fails to simply admit his own mistakes, or bring up newer and better ideas that American's should actually look for. He spent both more time and money (cough cough, $1.4 billion) on vacation that us taxpayers had to pay for ourselves. I am a high school sophomore and I haven't had a vacation since 7th grade. I take work more serious that the president does. Fundamentally Obama, who has never had a real job where he had to produce revenue, believes that all the problems are due to inequality caused by rich people and, once fixed, will solve all problems.
