Is Big Pharma charging too much for cancer drugs?

  • People are dying for the treatable types of cancer.

All because of payment hassles. Healthcare is one of those things everyone deserves, and when profit gets in the way of it, something needs to be done about it. They should charge VERY little for life-saving drugs. A lot more people would be alive right now if they decided to cut their profits.

  • Yes, Big Pharma is charging prices that are above what people can pay for life saving drugs.

Yes, Big Pharma is charging too much for life saving cancer drugs. As oncology medications become more complex their prices rise. Big Pharma spends a lot of money getting these drugs researched and intends on making profits from them, as they should. However, the prices for these drugs can be at times too much for the average person to reasonably pay, and can place the patient in debt for the rest of their life. Many times these drugs only extend the lives of patients by only a few months, but the truly life saving drugs need to be more accessible to the every day person. In the tough economic times we live in, it is unreasonable to think that someone could pay over $100,000 a year on medications.

  • Yes, Big Phrama charges way too much for cancer drugs.

Yes I think that Big Pharma is charging too much for cancer drugs. Charging for life saving cancer drugs at all is immoral. These are medications that save peoples lives. Yet these corporations are more concerned with making money than helping those who are ill. Providing these medications for an affordable cost would lessen the burden on these already burdened individuals.

  • Yes, big pharmaceuticals are gouging people.

If evil exists, it is inherent in the people profiting with big pharmaceutical companies. From the time they start selling brand name drugs to the time they have any competition is an average of 13 years. It can be 20 years before a generic drug hits the market. In the meantime, pharma is charging whatever they please for the medications sick and dying people desperately need. The citizens who are speak out so loudly against The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act are shouting into the wrong ears. Many people cannot afford their treatment and medication, and insurance companies have abandoned them. I don't believe anyone wants them to die in the streets. Pharma only wants them to suffer -- just enough to need medication, I suppose.
