  • It can be justified sometimes

In the case of kids censoring things can be good because if the were exposed to the wrong thing then it would traumatize them then they it will make it a fear and be sacred of it the rest of there life's. Take gta for example kid are being exposed to gangs, guns, drugs, stealing cars, and sex. If kids are exposed to that they will try to go and do them

  • It is only acceptable for violence, and even when it is to extremes.

Censorship is normally a bad thing, but some people literally cannot take buckets of blood and guts spewing across the screen. And that's only with fiction! In reality, censorship should be used on murder victim's corpses, so you can see what happened, without more disgust than needed. But when it comes to speech or sexuality or even the FACTS, censorship is our worst enemy.

  • "Censorship breeds ignorance, not innocence." - youngbloodfantasy91

I absolutely hate when someone deletes a comment or blocks a user simply because they didn't like what was being said, whether it was pointing out a flaw in someone's argument or a simple disagreement. It sickens me even more when they try to come up with garbage excuses as to why they censored because it just shows people that they're not as open-minded as they make themselves out to be. Seriously, what do they hope to accom
Like another argument here stated, I would rather censor nothing at all than risk censoring something that didn't really deserve it.

  • It bereaves citizens of their rights.

Censorship is taking away a persons freedom . Its taking away information that is guaranteed to a person. Knowledge should be given to a person, lest they become ignorant. For example, censoring of war news occurred in world war 1. The government kept from the people the death totals. If people were to know the number of lives that were martyred, the war would have perhaps ended earlier! One shouldn't be deprived of their rights whatsoever.

  • Who decides what needs to be censored?

Because morality, by-and-large, is accepted as a relative thing, who decides what needs to be censored? Do you think that the elected officials are competent enough to determine this? Congress? The President? The Supreme Court? Do they even have the right? Can the masses democratically determine what is "acceptable" or "unacceptable" things for everyone to say, read, print, ect... I believe that certain things should be censored, however there is no way to be sure that those doing the censoring will not abuse their power. This may be a slippery slope augment, but I would rather let all things be uncensored then risk a violation of the liberty that every person is entitled to.

  • Do we really want to become Nazi Germany?

During World War II Hitler used censorship to suppress Jews as well as homosexuals and many other races or religious groups. Censorship is used only by dictatorships so unless you want to be part of a dictatorship then I don't see how anybody could support censorship. It is a socialist view and completely unnacceptable

  • It's not justified

Seriously if you don't want to see something don't look at it. Don't let your children use things where they can find inappropriate things. Its the the child's responsibility to not look. Its the parents responsibility to make sure they don't find it. Censor your own family if you really want to.

  • Censorship cannot be said to be for the good of the people.

Take the recent law passed in Japan that doesn't allow the public to know the full facts of an event or an affair if the government wishes to keep it a secret. This, I believe, implies a potential deterioration in the quality of government, country and people. It should be clear, therefore, that censorship is never justified.

  • In reality, censorship is not justified.

Censorship can be likened to caging a bird. The more the bird is kept behind bars, the more it longs for freedom. Every bird has the right to fly. Similarly, every one of us has the right to view what we want to view, read what we want to read and so on. Nobody should be allowed to decide what we 'should' think or what our opinions should be. Censorship brings out the rebel in the non-teens as well. There's a thin line between censoring and controlling. Crossing that line can prove to be extremely detrimental to the nation's freedom.
