I think that commercialization is good for music festivals. Music festivals need advertisers and sponsors
in order to finance the festivals and be able to bring good artists in to
perform. I also believe it is good when
artist sell their own merchandise at the festivals. Without commercialization, we might not even
have any more music festivals.
Musicians all need money because it's their livelihood. Some commercialization is necessary to sustain the art-form. Although too much commercialization can cheapen music festivals, it's necessary to support the musicians. Everyone likes to have souvenirs that remind them of fun times in the past, so the sales of CDs and mementos from music festivals can be a good way to preserve memories.
