    If you could convince someone that the Eiffel Tower was not only going to be dismantled but then just turned in for scrap, that would be an amazing scam. Not only would you have to find an incredibly gullible person but they would have to be surrounded by gullible people who do not read or listen to any news! Although, it must have been easier to do in the twenties, before television and the internet.

The scam in this case is that there was a law outlawing the teaching at all. Evolution is scientific fact. That law was perpetuating a scam.
