Darts are good so they should be considered sports

  • It fits the definition.

    The definition of sport is:
"An activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others."
Darts does involve skill (notably accuracy and consistency), and darts does put one to two person(s) against another competitively. I argue that it also involves physical exertion by the constant repetitive motion of the arm and the repetitive walking to and from the darts board (which can be hours on end). Furthermore, the throwing style i.E. Fast or slow, depends on just how exerting the sport is, as well as the added fact of the longer you play the more fatigue you suffer from.

  • It does not fit the definition of a sport

Here are a few definitions of sport: "physical activity engaged in for pleasure," "an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature," etc. There is no physical activity or physical prowess involved. The most exertion in a game of darts is throwing an object weighing 0.5-1.5 oz 15 feet in front of you.
