  • A middle-class candidate is more likely than not to represent the majority of the population.

It is my opinion that Dr. Ben Carson is more than qualified to be the president of the United States. As a neurosurgeon, it is a given that Dr. Carson has spent at least ten years attaining higher education—not to mention his numerous accolades, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom. To refer to Dr. Carson simply as a surgeon does not do him justice, as in addition to his extensive medical practice he has penned eight books and established a number of educational reading programs across the country to help improve literacy. It is my belief that as president of the United States, Dr. Ben Carson would help to improve the country's standard of education as well as the country's health care system. Having grown up in a lower-class family in Detroit, Dr. Carson truly is a representative of the people of the United States of America and understands more than any other presidential candidate what being a citizen of the U.S. entails.

  • Yes he is

Ben Carson is an incredibly successful and intelligent man. He is definitely qualified to be US President. I think he is better suited for VP, but that doesn't mean he isn't qualified to be President. He is very passionate and very caring. We could do a heck of a lot worse than Ben Carson as President.

  • No he is not.

No not really, i don't think so ! These days everyone seems to think that they are qualified to rule a country. It is a wrong assumption by all of them. In this day and age honestly there is not a single person on this earth that is qualified to rule anything.

  • He truly is not ready to be the leader of the free world

Dr. Ben Carson is definitely not ready to take over the presidency. He is a brilliant man, that cannot be argued, but his expertise is in medicine not politics. Everyone is under the impression that anybody can do this job and trust me most of us cannot. As you hear Donald Trump spewing out hate speech and inciting others to give in to their fears, you soon realize that this divides the country. Ben Carson has engaged in some of this same kind of rhetoric, referring to Muslim refugees as "rabid dogs." That is not something a president should ever do. To handle the highest office of the land you have to think before you speak and find ways to bring your fellow countrymen together. You also need to offer solutions to a multitude of problems, including foreign affairs, which he has admitted is his weakness. He is a perfect example that just because you want something doesn't mean you can or should just have it.
