  • Education is essential for success

Although education is essential for success, there are many types of education. Not everyone is suited for a "conventional" college education. For example, skilled workers, carpenters, plumbers etc can't do their jobs and do them well without some type of learning background in those fields. Being successful at anything requires training, learning and practice: all components of education.

  • Education is a foundation to go forward

For people who are looking to take the next step forward in their job search or in their professional goals an education is the next step there. For those looking for a job its hard to look at the newspaper or any internet job board for a job without an education.

  • Education is success!

I think that education is an important cog in anyone's ability in being successful. If a person wants to start a business and they do not know basic mathematics or they are unable to read a report, they will be unable to find success in their endeavors. I think it is also helpful that once people have learned their basics that they learn more advanced concepts for their specific field. The more you know about the thing you want to do, the more successful you will be.

  • Education and Success

Today, education is very important in becoming successful. It is necessary to get the fundamental courses completed and it helps a great deal to take classes directly related to the field in which you want to work. Not every successful person has an education but mostly those that are successful have a pretty good education behind them.

  • No matter how you look at it, no.

Its impossible to answer the question, is education essential for success until we define both education and success.

Where is there greater education to be had?

Is it working, learning and apprenticing with a master?
Is it studying on the internet, reading and researching for your own passions?
Is it sitting in a class room with a hundred other people listing to one mans who's knowledge likely came from sitting in a class room a few decades before?
Is education simply the ability for basic mathematics, reading and writing?

    What is success?
Is it having a family, spending time with them and raising good people?
Is it having money in the bank that you spend lavishly for the few days where you find yourself with free time?
Is it being happy, healthy and doing what you love?

Regardless on how you view it, education isn't necessary for success because your definition of success and mine may be different.

And in all the examples I've given, a person with drive, creativity and intuition can be successful without education.

The idea that we must go to college or university to be successful is generated by the college and universities. They trained people to believe this is true, so when they go out into the work force these beliefs are passed on to each generation further re-enforcing the position of these institutions.

I always found it hilarious that a sheet of paper from two different universities carry so much different weight. Harvard students have been known to cheat and lie their way into programs and this is valued higher than the student to spends every day at a local library studying with a passion for knowledge.

A peice of paper from a online university would be treated as worthless because the people who paid significant amounts of money for Harvard

  • Education is not essential

Education has become severely watered down. Unqualified, unintelligent students are filling the classrooms. It is too business driven. The real millionaires are innovators and people who are smart. Entrepreneurs, entertainers, people with specific skills. Going to school is going to get you average. 2.5 kids and a suburban house, and that is if you are lucky. Find your dream and chase it.
