Is every American citizen entitled to constitutional rights?

  • That's what they're for!

The entire reason we have constitutional rights is to make sure that each and every American citizen has those rights and protections and does not have them violated by the government. You can debate whether or not certain things should be included in constitutional rights, but you can't justly hold them back from some citizens.

  • Should all dogs be allowed to be dogs?

This question, though offensive at its core, is also an indication of the extreme lack of historical knowledge, education and deductive reasoning. We are this country. Anyone that asks if other Americans should or should not be allowed to be Americans are ignoring the act of cutting their own nose off. The moment you go down this road you open yourself to the exact same threat. The Constitution DOES NOT GIVE RIGHTS! It merely explains their existence. INALIENABLE! These types of questions pollute the very conversation so many are trying to keep alive. The words in the Constitution are not giving. They are stating. Even the process of amendment is limited in its function. No rights are removable. No law can thwart their existence. If only people would read and study their own history. There would be so much less confusion. And perhaps much more anger towards the things taking place right now.Thank You.

  • That's the entire point of constitutional rights.

Yes, because that is exactly what being an American citizen means and why constitutional rights exist at all. The Constitution can be changed, which is a good thing, and one can debate whether or not what is included in constitutional rights should be changed. But no citizen should be deprived of constitutional rights that other citizens have.

  • Every American citizen is entitled to constitutional rights.

The constitution is there for a reason. To make sure everything is done above board. They are there not only to protect the individual, but also the legal system. If a person does not exercise his rights, everything he says can be thrown out. A guilty man can go free. It is the same the other way around also.

  • Absolutely and entirely.

Every American, whether born here or naturalized, whether quiet as a mouse or convicted of any crime, whether accused of terrorism or burning the flag, whether the poorest or the youngest, is absolutely and entirely entitled to constitutional rights, because to deny any one being their constitutional rights, is to potentially deny each and every one of us.
