    No, they're not. Germanic refers to the countries of northern Europe. German refers to Germany. To me, they're not the same at all. Germany is a country whos ethnic bloodlines are Slavic mixed with Roman, much like Austria and France. Britain is more Germanic than Germany (especially depending on which parts you go)
