  • If global warming was real,

Perhaps we would be seeing the sea level rising rapidly. I've gone down to the beach of Lincoln Park in Seattle for several years now, and have not seen any difference in sea level. This is when this global warming theory showed up at school. It sounded like an interesting subject, until later, when I found out it wasn't actually real.
Back in the 1960's and 1970's, scientists claimed that we were entering an ice age. This is actually due to the planet experiencing warming and cooling periods. A hundred years ago, the planet began its usual warming period, which lasted until the beginning of World War 2. The planet then experienced a cooling period until about 1979, about the same time global satellite imaging was first used. In this case, THE SAME SCIENTISTS WHO BELIEVE IN GLOBAL WARMING WERE THE SCIENTISTS WHO SAID WE WOULD BE ENTERING ANOTHER ICE AGE. To sum it up, these natural warming and cooling periods are about thirty to forty years long. But any time now, to these scientists disadvantage, the planet will end its warming period. As a matter of fact, it already has! The planet is now cooling again. The Arctic ice caps are growing again, based on this year's and last year's satellite imaging of the ice caps. To you, annoying theorists! Anyone who believes in global warming has not yet questioned it, and scientists think they can claim anything because they think we are too stupid to question it. I STRONGLY ADVISE YOU TO QUESTION GLOBAL WARMING. If you oppose my position, I am always up for a public debate! ;^)

  • Just a way for the government to tax people on more things by saying their trying to save energy

People are saying any change in temperature or natural disaster is caused by global warming. They blame temperature dropping on global warming. If carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is keeping heat in, then why wouldn't it be keeping heat out. People don't want to let go of the idea of global warming because so much money has been put into it, that they would look foolish Admitting that it's a myth

  • Yes, it is hype.

Yes, global warming is a myth, because they have not really proven the science behind it. There have been a lot of developments since scientists have begun tracking temperature information. Where the temperature was tracked in a field twenty years ago, it is now a parking lot, and that will record higher temperatures.

  • Run for your lives, the sky is falling! Says Al Gore and you know what Global warming is Man made, Yep, man made!

Who are we to believe do we believe

In a book by Mark Levin, Titled," Liberty And Tyranny" Who are we to believe, do we believe the current hysteria being hyped as proven knowledge about man-made " global warming " The Save-the-planet " Enviro-statists " shout repeatedly at every opportunity. Mark Levin wrote in his book that"...Enviro- statists has only begun." "His most noxious assault on humankind and civil society is presented as man-made "global warming" Amazingly, not long ago "global cooling" was all the rage, with warnings of cataclysmic destruction fom flooding, famine, and upheaval." warming." " The global cooling alarm was sounded through out the 1970s." On 1974, Time Magazine featured an article titled " another Ice Age." " in 1975, scientists again raised the specter of global cooling. A famous article appearing in Newsweek magazine, Titled " The cooling world"...
So who do we believe now, the Al Gores of the world or the scientists of yesterday who were positive that global cooling was a fact.

  • Global Warming is real, AGW is not.

Global Warming has been happening since the Earth was born. For humans to think that they could destroy the Earth is very egocentric. Scientific research has proved that temperatures have not only not increased, but DECREASED since the 60-90's. Do your research and do not make false conclusions based on your own opinion.

  • Earths temperatures have fluctuated before humans where even on the planet.

Look at the ice core archives. Also, look at the main drivers behind "global warming", "climate change", and "human induced climate change". Their carbon foot print is bigger than the average person could ever produce in their entire lives. Its vey odd they go to their summits or meaning about these topics in their private jets, and when they get home they drive around in their fossil fueled automobiles. This is just a way to tax and control the people buy making them feel like they are helping the Earth. Earth has gone through temperature changes since the beginning of time, and will continue to do so even after we are gone. Also, why haven't these main drivers found a way to tax the volcanos, cow farts and exhaling? Hopefully, people stop drinking the big government koolaid.

  • Depends on how you define 'global warming'

Is global warming a myth? No. Not if you define global warming as the increase in average surface temperature of the planet which is assumed to have increased by 0.8C since 1900. Is anthropogenic global warming a myth? Probably not. It is understood that CO2 absorbs IR-radiation and re-radiates the absorbed energy in all directions therefore even if there were one anthropogenic CO2 molecule in the atmosphere it would still increase the surface temperature by some amount, albeit infinitesimally small. Is significant dangerous anthropogenic global warming a myth? Yes, most definitely. The CAGW-religion as propounded by the IPCC is in conflict with well-established universally-accepted physical laws of nature, such as Henry’s law and the Stefan-Boltzmann law. I wrote an article on why the IPCC’s Revelle Factor contradicts Henry’s law called ‘Digging into the core: Why the increase in CO2 is probably natural’ and why it contradicts the Stefan-Boltzmann law called ‘The Cold Truth About CO2’. If we use empirical measurements of CO2’s absorptivity/emissivity and apply the Stefan-Boltzmann law we find that the maximum warming from the entire atmospheric CO2-greenhouse of about 400ppmv is 0.05C. If you investigate this subject in any detail, you soon see that almost every piece of evidence that CAGW-advocates have presented is manufactured pseudoscientific claptrap.

  • No, global warming is real due to the ice caps melting and cold places in the world becoming warmer.

No, global warming is caused by the depletion of the ozone layer caused by pollution, hair sprays, etc. Global warming is happening in Antartica and Alaska, where the snow is melting and the temperatures are higher than normal. Global warming is occuring in the United States, where normally cold places are becoming increasingly warm and vice versa.

  • What planet do you live on?

Science and research have proven (time and time again) that carbon dioxide and methane traps heat like a blanket. It is simply common sense that launching HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS of tonnes of CO2 and Methane (they DO remain in orbit because of GRAVITY) is bound to change something with the properties they have. Dont you know that for every action, there is an opposite and equal reaction?

Also, there is no way in hell volcanoes and geologic activity spewing out CO2 into the atmosphere have enough of an effect to rapidly change the weather like this.

The change in global temperature is far too rapid to be natural. Rather its our pollution and consumerism that is speeding up the process of warming and cooling thus causing bizarre weather.

Saying global warming is a myth is just like saying after a nuclear war: "hey the reason why its so cold, dark, and miserable outside in the middle of summer is because the earth moved away from the sun!"

Its just not true, and you can see the evidence all around you. Same goes for global warming thus making it fact.

  • No it is not.

Global warming is not a myth. You can look at how fast the icebergs are melting and see that the climate is getting warmer. Another thing is that the sea temperature is also rising. This is a very good indicator that global warming exists. The sea would not just rise in temperature unless the planet was getting warmer.

  • Very much not a myth

Global warming is very much not a myth, and those who believe it is have clearly not studied the subject in depth. While the extent of global warming might be up for debate (IPCC climate models haven't been accurate in the past), arguing that global warming is neither happening nor caused by humans is fairly ignorant.

  • Global warming is not a myth.

I believe that global warming is not a myth. There are so many things happening that support the global warming theory. For example, the ice bergs are melting faster than they should. Also, our weather pattern has been thrown off by global warming. The winters are warmer than ever and we have more tornado, hurricanes, etc. because of global warming.

  • Global warming is real.

The idea that global warming is a myth is damaging to the fact that global warming is real and could cause huge problems for the world if we do not get it under control. There is tons of science to support the fact that global warming is a reality and dangerous.

  • No some happens

Global warming of the world is more than simply just a myth. There is scientific research from across many countries including the United States of America which support the fact that there is some occurring. This question did not simply ask if man made global warming is happening it can naturally happen.

  • Global warming is not a myth.

I would suggest a viewing of the
movie “The day after tomorrow” for anyone who thinks that global warming is a myth. Global warming is real and is basically the
effect of humans on the environment.
This gradual warming of the planet is slowly melting the polar ice caps
and making the sea level rise around the world.

  • Science and nature has already settled this "debate" while we are still arguing about it.

All of the evidence for Climate change is already discovered, there is a consensus within the scientific community (97%) yet there are people such as yourself who are arguing that it is not happening. Now there seems to be an idea that all of these scientists are just making up this information as to get grants and be paid for their research, now I would hope that you would see the flaw with that logic. But the point seems clear that if scientist were only in it for the money where would that money be coming from. As I hope you understand the oil business, the energy business, the smart phone business, the fertilizer industry, the agricultural business, the paper business, the meat industry and that is just to name a few all stand to lose a certain amount of money if the public has to make a change in the status quo. So it stands to reason that if there was a market for the scientific community in reference to this discussion it would not be for the proposal that it exists, but in strict opposition of its existence. We do have a market for things of that nature that have been made and paid for by oil tycoons such as the Koch brothers. Those institutes include the Heartland Institute, The American Enterprise Institute, Americans for Prosperity, American Legislative Exchange Council, Beacon Hill Institute at Suffolk University, Cato Institute, Competitive Enterprise Institute, Heritage Foundation, Institute for Energy Research, and Manhattan Institute for Policy Research all of which have received millions from the Koch brothers. So I just stand to wonder what there is to gain from lying to people about climate change from a stand point of scientist. I'll move on to discuss you specific problems with the science behind it.

The deniers raised some interesting discussion points in reference to climate change, such as why there was a horrible winter in America just as recently as last year, and it is a very good thing that science explains that. The explanation is not simple so be ready to get a litany of complex arguments. The heating in the arctic circle has caused the polar vortex to dip down farther than it normally would meaning that the colder weather is forced farther south leading to many more extreme weather events. There is a flaw with the argument though they are comparing two VASTLY different sciences they are comparing weather and climate, the climate GLOBALLY doesn't find relevance in the opinion of the weather in your city during one month of one year, especially since the science does and always had claimed that more snow and rain fall would result from the warming of our climate. It is like standing in one room and painting a picture of the entire world.

I could go into depth about every false argument, but there is a website that does that already Skepticalscience.Com.

  • Not a myth

97% of peer-reviewed articles making a statement on global warming say that it is real and man-made. Yes we've had cycles of cooling and warming before, but you can't just ignore all of these scientists doing active research, saying that this is a huge problem, especially with just your own observations or feelings. No, cold winters do not mean global warming isn't real.
