Is god real or just fear we human have of death

Asked by: Nootherleft
  • God IS Real!!

Who says there is no God?? Only non-believers think this is true. If you think that God is not real, that means that you are living your life wrongly or bad things have just been happening. If you do believe that God is real, then you would live your life peacefully, humbly and you will be blessed.. If you don't believe, read the bible, go to church and most of all PRAY!! Pray about everything good and bad and leave him to help you because there is no one more powerful than him. DO NOT let the devil into your heart...

  • I you don't believe in god, you have a problem

I got evidence for you people that say god is not real, watch God's not dead, that will change your mind I am talking to you "inform you" GOD'S NOT DEAD. He is very alive. If you say there is no got, then who created adam and eve, who created humanity, who created the earth?

  • Science never opposes relidion

There are scientific facts written in the religious scriptures i.E Qura'n and the bible which are only known to the humans these past 50 years(more or less) .What Athiest really fail to answer is who wrote these scriptures.
It really points out that whoever who wrote these scriptures is a supreme being being and most importantly not man

  • According to the Evidence, God Exists

I think that really, the only thing to prove that Christianity is the one and only true religion is if you prove the resurrection. If you look at the authenticity of the New Testament Scriptures, you'll eventually come to the conclusion that Jesus rose from the dead, and as such, all of the implications of that conclusion.

You'll notice that if you look at The New Testament Scriptures, they are extremely reliable. The (apparently "Bible-destroying") contradictions actually strengthen its reliability, since if you think that the authors collaborated on a story, they would obviously have all the same exact details. But it doesn't. Also, people who do not believe in God have to explain why thousands of non-believers (who previously disregarded Jesus such as the Apostle Paul) started to join Christianity in droves 2-3 years after his Crucifixion. Are they all experiencing the same delusion, that they have seen Jesus after his death? Imagine the probability of that occurring (which is basically zero, more than 500 people having the same hallucination at the same time does not make sense).

Also, the status of women during the time period in which the New Testament was written was poor, as they were treated like second class citizens. This is makes it all the more surprising when men said that the women who found Jesus's tomb empty were not indeed delusional, they were telling the truth!

So all in all, I believe the Resurrection had more probability of happening than simply the alternative. While the conversation than moves into which Bible stories should be read literally, or in its original context and literary structure, the resurrection is prove, and therefore, Christianity has been proven.

While I do believe that people have an innate fear of death/ the unknown, I believe people have an even larger fear of being held accountable for their actions. If the resurrection is true, then people have to face the uncomfortable truth that their is accountability after death.

So no, I do not believe that religion was created to do away with the fear of death, rather, I think it presents in many ways either a more calming aspect to death, or a much more terrifying one. I think people have a fixation on disproving and attacking Christianity because they have a fear of the light (this statement holds no water, but I just want to "match" some of the put-down statements on the opposing side).

  • Are yall Blind. LOOK AROUND YOU GUYS. LOOK AT THE WORLD YALL ARE LIVING AND COMPARE IT TO WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT THE END

Have yall heard about what Donald Trump did to Syria. The bible also says something similar about what will happen to Syria and what will be its future. Isaiah 17 Good News Translation (GNT)

God Will Punish Syria and Israel
17 The Lord said, “Damascus will not be a city any longer; it will be only a pile of ruins. 2 The cities of Syria will be deserted forever.[a] They will be a pasture for sheep and cattle, and no one will drive them away. 3 Israel will be defenseless, and Damascus will lose its independence. Those Syrians who survive will be in disgrace like the people of Israel. I, the Lord Almighty, have spoken.”

4 The Lord said, “A day is coming when Israel's greatness will come to an end, and its wealth will be replaced by poverty. 5 Israel will be like a field where the grain has been cut and harvested, as desolate as a field in Rephaim Valley when it has been picked bare. 6 Only a few people will survive, and Israel will be like an olive tree from which all the olives have been picked except two or three at the very top, or a few that are left on the lower branches. I, the Lord God of Israel, have spoken.”

7 When that day comes, people will turn for help to their Creator, the holy God of Israel. 8 They will no longer rely on the altars they made with their own hands, or trust in their own handiwork—symbols of the goddess Asherah and altars for burning incense.

9 When that day comes, well-defended cities will be deserted and left in ruins like the cities that the Hivites and the Amorites[b] abandoned as they fled from the people of Israel.

10 Israel, you have forgotten the God who rescues you and protects you like a mighty rock. Instead, you plant sacred gardens[c] in order to worship a foreign god. 11 But even if they sprouted and blossomed the very morning you planted them, there would still be no harvest. There would be only trouble and incurable pain.

  • Genesis 1:1 Revelation, not raw reason

God is uncreated Creator, maximally great, self-existent, eternal, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent. Something does not come from nothing. He is the only robust, explanatory brute fact to explain reality. We have sufficient revelation in creation, Christ, Scripture, Church to be without excuse (Romans 1).
He is there and He is not silent- Francis Schaeffer

  • God is real

  • There is no evidence that supports God's existence.

There is no evidence that supports God's existence and so we can not say he is real or that he did anything.

Also there are other more realistic alternatives to the claims that God made the Universe, these are backed by actual scientific research and lots of evidence.

On top of this the Bible has lots of contradictions that ruin any legitimacy the book had in the first place, it makes the whole religion's reliability questionable.

  • God is a figment of your imagination

God does not exist. There is no evidence of a man creating the world. Let alone the universe. I'm not atheist nor do i believe in satanism, i believe every religion is to bring money to the masses, and brainwash people to "pray" and ruin their lies in hope of going to a place where everything is paradise and everyone stays young. That is bullshit. When you die, you die, no heaven, nor hell, you die and rot in the ground. Nothing but blackness.

  • God is not read

Think logically. Think of all the religions ever. Think of Greek Mythology. Right, mythology. They're all myths, what's the difference? Christians don't look at the evidence. You guys sacrifice lambs, thats savage. Do you really think that there is someone up there knowing every one? We just fear death and we are insecure, which is why religions are there. At this point of science and research, humans should be intelligent enough that God is not real. If there is a God, then he's a boasting person. He killed thousands in Noah's Ark and his point of sending Jesus down is to "show God's glory." Humble guy, right?
Anyways, back to the point, he's simply not real. There is no support of evidence whatsoever because apparently of a thing called "faith." Just because the Bible's chronological order is correct doesn't mean God and Jesus is real. I mean, Greek mythology's mountains and places are real. Why is it considered a myth then? Hell, the Harry Potter series are real then because muggles/humans can't go to this wizardly world. The Bible is a great work, but a work of crazy people who claim to have seen God in their dreams and have known Jesus who can do anything. Jesus and the followers are simply maniacs. They're savages! In fact, there are many paradoxes surrounding this, such as "can God create something he can't lift if he can do anything?" or "can God kill himself?" Now, because Christians don't know what to answer, they will simply say, "Well, we don't know because only God can understand these questions." Christians are just full of lies and excuses to protect their religion.
Call me a monster or offensive or whatever, but its true and you know it. Growing up in a Christian school, I've seen so many flaws in this religion. I don't get how you can't get the fact that there is no God. Sorry to break it to you.
Okay, lastly, how can you even trust the Bible? You base everything on one book. Seriously? No science? No nothing? Hell, you guys even believe in spirits and stuff. This is the 21st century and you're still living in the Middle Ages!
I want to stop writing now but I keep getting more ideas. Seriously though, its a ridiculous thing if you think about it. People have dreams and believing them. Well I must die by falling off a cliff then because that's what I dreamt of last night. If it came true, then there's a thing called chance people. How can you not believe in coincidences? Do you really believe everything happens for a reason? You guys are crazy.

  • How can god exist?

I understand and respect everyone beliefs and all that I am doing through this comment is trying to bring people to their senses however how can one deny the proof and evidence behind science. Not only has science shown us how the world was created but it has also shown us how humans and other living organisms have evolved from their original primitive state. We have seen these things from the hadron collider's discoveries about the Bang theory. There is also proof of evolution from all of the fossilised ape skulls eventually evolving to ours today, also we have found proof for evolution via dinosaurs such as the archaeopteryx which we have found feathers on which show the origin of birds.
Now I understand that you will now probably pull something about the blind watchmaker and how just by looking at the earth it must have had a creator but from science we have discovered how many differences and changes in the universe to what there were in the bible that none of it can be correct.

  • An illogical conclusion.

It is fair to assume that mankind has two choices. Either accept that your gone after death or believe in a deity to give you transition. Thing is, I don't think that is how or why religion came to exist.
At one point in mankind's past, they noticed that they were more advanced than other creatures as they knew about, controlled, and created so much about the world around them. Problem was that there was still so much about the world that they did not know, control, or create. To their logic, this mean that there must be some even more advanced being(s). Because they could not see them they often believed that it/they existed in some unreachable realm such as bottom of the sea, high in the sky, invisible and so on.

  • It doesn't matter

So, I start by saying it's interesting how this debate usually means "is the CHRISTIAN God real" because in the mind of the Christians, their religion is the only true one, so I will respond to them.

The Christian religion is just a group of people trying to explain things they could not understand.
There was a great flood (one suggestion, caused by the continental rift in Africa - when the eastern part dropped into the ocean, causing massive tsunamis) - explanation? - God was mad because there was sin, so he was going to wipe it out...Riiiight (many cultures across the world, that weren't in this supposed tiny tiny world where Adam lived, also had equally ridiculous stories)

There are multiple languages being spoken: Judeo/Christian answer: God got mad because people were building a tower into the sky that was going to reach heaven - WTF!? - now that we know where the earth is, was that really a threat?

The fact is, the Hebrew Torah, which led to the bible was just an attempt by HEBREW people to explain the world.
Anthropology, Linguistics, Paleontology etc have answered many questions that would easily disprove the Hebrew stories.

For example, in Linguistics you learn that if humanity existed for 1 day (24 hours), written language comes in around 11:59 pm - That's how much humans evolved and moved around. The Hebrew Language is a relatively young language (and as such its people) and while that language was being developed, half way across the world there were other people with other languages with other explanations for how we got here or why things happened.

Back to the flood: To THIS DAY, we still discover new species of animals!! But somehow, Noah was able to gather every species!? WTF?
And wait...Every species!? So that mean Noah gathered all those parasites? Like the ones that eat the eyes of children? All those bugs that devastate the African savannah?

Yea...The bible is a crock of....Well, you know.

  • God was basically how law worked back in those days

People needed religion to keep themselves in check, because if they believe that if nothing bad happens when they do something which is morally incorrect of some sort, they feel as though they can get away scott free and the same goes for going to a good place to maybe soften the impact of imminent death per say if they dont want to die but if they believe that when they do they will go to a nice place, they wouldnt mind as much.
Basically, god is just a social construct used to explain what people back in those days didnt have the capability to explain or understand. They dont have the technological or scientific advances or knowledge that we have today, which we can use to explain almost anything, so they come up with a sentient being who just creates everything because they dont know how else it would have been created.

Its the 21st century people, we god is redundant because we have science. Its a fact which you people choose to ignore for whatever reason.

  • Belief in God persists only because of comfort and indoctrination

There is no evidence for God but there is hope that we are ultimately protected by a benevolent creator. And human beings tend to believe comforting thoughts. What is more comforting than belief that we will never really die and will get to see our grandma again? It is tough to face the reality that we live in an environment that is downright hostile to life and that each of us will someday cease to exist. Finis. One's atoms will be recycled and become parts of new forms (living and non-living) but the individual is gone forever.

Billions of people will of course hold out hope that death is not final. And religions are extremely good (well-practiced) at providing the justification to hold on to irrational but comforting beliefs. God is just a nice thought - a more pleasant, predictable reality than what science has discovered thus far.
