  • Greed is freedom

Greed can understandably be considered evil or a sin, but it is human nature and it is life. All decisions we make are based on some branch of greed and without it there is no happiness or success. Yes, people use greed to become successful, but it effects everyone and it can't be avoided. Let me give a very broad and distant example; your family lives in a town that gets its water from a single reservoir, a rich man moves in on the other side of the reservoir and begins to purchase very large amounts of water for his own personal use. Your family soon begins to suffer because there is less water for you to use and you have to pay more money to get water. Is your desire for more and cheaper water greedy? Yes, because greed is wanting more, and you would obviously want more and cheaper water. Without greed life is taken from you and happiness cannot be found.

  • Greed is good

To achieve greed must exist without greed you will not achieve the thing that is most wanted. Without greed at all in the world there would be nothing. If you came second in a competition you would believe it was not good enough and strive to come first in the next on. Without greed you would not want that, in fact there would not be any competitions at all.

  • Greed is necessary in today's world .

Our greed is what motivates us to reach the heights of success . It acts like a fuel to us for which we toil to achieve . Greed can not only be for money or power but also for knowledge which leads to nothing , but brings development and prosperity to a society .

  • It is greed due to which we reached to mood lead to motivation

Greed is good because it is human’s greed which sends him to moon. Greed is a good motivation what we have today is our greed. It human’s greed which makes him to find the dose of cancer it is his greed for knowledge. It is greed that brought mankind where mankind is.

  • Greed can lead to motivation

Just because someone is greedy we can not assume that they are not out for the good of those that are around them. Greed can lead to motivation and motivation at times can benefit those that are all around this single person. Thus one should not simply hinder someone because they are greedy.

  • The Drive For Success

Greed is a human characteristic that makes us long for more than what we have. Greed is the driving force of the economic world, and if everyone had the same financial, social, and political status, no one would care to strive for a better life. Rich people are not greedy in fact, they donate more to the "unfortunate" ones than any other class of people in America. Poor people are the ones who are living the life of greed they long for the money of the Rich; in that case it is just jealousy. Once again greed is the longing for a better more prosperous life, and one who was truly greedy would work his way up to the top. So, all in all greed separated from jealousy is a great and beautiful human quality.

  • Not solely for material things

Yes, greed can be considered evil, but those who say it is, are only looking at one side of the coin. Greed doesn't always have to be about wanting money, power, etc.... We all WANT things, it's in our human nature. Be it love, living, knowledge, friends,etc... Being greedy allows us, as humans, to strive forward and live.

Greed In the economic system that exists here in American, greed is what drives progress. Everyone wants to get rich. Nobody says, "alright I made enough money let somebody else make money." That is just absurd. Without greed we have communism. I understand that people believe that greed crushes the poor, but even the poor are being greedy with those poorer than they are because there is always someone that has if worse than you. Some people say greed is a necessary evil, I say it makes America the powerful country it is today, and gives everyone the dreams of making it big.

  • Greed and selfishness in a voluntary society are moral

Selfishness is simply showing self interest. Man must live for himself because no one else will live for him. Greed is the foundation of pure capitalism, man must achieve his own goals, but to do so man must have help from others to achieve his goals and happiness but that help will only come when it is beneficial to the helper. If the helper aides man without any benefit he is not living for him self, he is a slave to other men. Because slavery is immoral, because one owns his own body, greed is good.

  • Greed leads to excess which causes problems and conflict.

Intrinsic motivation is not necessary to create positive change. A change in values is required.

Greed has lead to conflict within families, communities and countries as people concentrate on their have nots. The happiest communities are those isolated from the commercialisation of living and free from advertisings pull towards want over need.

  • No, but it does affect us

Greed is not good because it teaches us that we need materialistic things. We do not we should be happy with being happy. The only good thing about greed is that it motivates people to work harder. It may also motivate someone to do something illegal to get what they want and that is bad.

  • All the Wrong Reasons

Although greed can play an important role in a capitalistic society, the motivations behind the greed are not good. It is because of greed for money, power, influence, etc., with no consideration to the impact on others, that the economy and other such systems are broken. Greed is a motivational factor that negatively impacts outcomes and often harms others in the process.

  • No greed is NOT good.

Greed is the entire reason we have the problems we have in this country, why we have such a divide between rich and poor, healthy and unhealthy, it is all greed driven. Greed is what drives big businesses to ensure their business is not challenged, it's what drives them to keep the little guys down, if not crush them outright. It's what drives governments to constantly raise taxes, while the dollar value falls further from where it was. Greed is far from good, it is a symbol of everything bad in America, if not the world.

  • No Greed is not good.

If you are a greedy person then you are constantly craving more than you already have. You will never be a truly happy person as you can never accept the things you already have. Greed is such a deadly sin and is the root of many evil things in the world.

  • Its unsustainable and hinders human progress

To me people who don't have a moral compass and are selfish and have disregard for nature and unstable lives and relationships are greedy.People who judge others for what they have and not who they are. When we start disregarding a persons morals choices, philosophy of life, harmony and we only judge others with how much they have makes for a dangerous way forward for humans. The ultimate goal of life is to be happy and true happiness comes when everybody is happy but greed goes counter to that notion,,I think greed is a disease of mind and soul.

  • Greed: Bain of Existence

Observing the current zeitgeist of Americans, one can only surmise that greed has become the mantra for personal growth instead of self actualization. The everyday indifference of people, the lack of warmth, and the ostracizing of so many 'groups' of people has put America back on the map for racist and bias. Even relationships are practically non-existent or forever failing unless it involves the pursuit of the dollar. It is as if money is the equalizer for all ills, problems, relationships, esteem, careers, and on and on ad nauseum. With this rationalization for the need for capital, there are no rules, no evils and no prisoners. And the poor and infirmed are merely disgusting causalities of this war of greed. Nothing is sacred, pensions, social securities, mortgages, life savings, food, shelter, medical, it simply doesn't matter...Even if it is a direct relative. Case in point Bernie Madoff gave up his own sons!. And I ask, to what end? To argue greed is the motivator to excel, or for a competitive market, or to produce better products...My answer is bull! The push to excel has been to excel at stomping on everyone for self serving bias. The competition in the market has not only been manipulated, but has gone over seas to the enslaved workers, and the 'better' products are mass produced crap. You cannot take someone for their word anymore, a name on a product is nothing, and business is monkey. The US has not only nearly ruined itself but tried to take the world with them. Luckily, some of us have hung on to our old country cultures and managed maintain some modicum of hope for our future. Americans have a lot of spinal chord following to repair and consumer behavior to change...As for the greed mongers on Wall street and in New York and LA? It is questionable. The US has been dancing to the tune of a few since it's inception.

  • Restrained greed is good; greed without restraint is bad

As with many times, greed can be good if it's restrained, both on an individual level and at the legal level. Greed can be good if it's checked with regulation and laws in the business environment.

Greed is certainly bad if it's allowed to do whatever it wants without limitation.

As I once read in a book, "Greed is like fire. It can cook your food and keep you warm. But it can also burn you, burn yourr house down."

  • No, Greed is far food being good.

The story of Pandora is basically about this girl that disobeyed and opened a box that unleashed terrible things into the world, such as jealousy, and hate. The last thing that came out was Greed, symbolizing that greed is basically the root of all evil. If people were not greedy, they would not need to envy those who have things they want. Everybody would be content and happy with what they have. The more greedy people are the more they would become corrupt. Imagine if business men were greedier; it would corrupt the entire existing system of america than it already has, and the country would be far worse than communist.

It's better if people stay content and not greedy for stupid little things. Everyone wants to get rich but not everyone can get rich. It's just the way things are. there's no point in being greedy for things you can't have. A smart fish will stay a fish, and a stupid fish will try to be a bird.
