Racehorses are not treated cruelly. Visit any racehorse farm and tell me if you can honestly say they are. Racehorses are run on the track once, perhaps twice a day for on average three or four years, and then they are either sold to a caring owner for a new life or retired to a heavenly farm. While some racehorses are sent to slaughter houses, racehorse fans actively seek to reduce this number and the number is small itself. Furthermore, although horses cannot tell us whether they enjoy racing, the fact is that horses are large animals and could very easily refuse to run. But they run, they try to win, and for the most part, it is difficult to provide any evidence they do not love to run.
