• Allah's teachings in the Quran as well as Muhammad's examples for all mankind within the Hadiths indicate Islam is a religion of terror.

    Firstly, it's important to distinguish between the terms Muslim and Islam. Muslims are the followers of Islam and are separate from the religion and teachings of Islam. Of course Muslims can be fantastic people just as some Christians can be horrible people, but that does not mean it's because of their faith. One can believe in Islam and at the same time not follow Allah's teachings or Muhammad's examples, but this is hypocrisy. Let me explain.

    Islam means the submission to Allah, and fortunately the Qur'an instructs devout Muslims exactly how to submit Allah. Allah tells us the following in Surah 33:36 -

    "It is not fitting for a believer, man or woman, when a matter has been decided by Allah and His Messenger, to have any option about their decision. If anyone disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he is indeed on a clearly wrong path."

    So in this verse Allah tells us that good Muslims must not question any decision of Allah's or Muhammad's (the Messenger), and any who do are cearly straying from Islam. This command is again given in Surah 4:46 -

    "But no, by your Lord, they can have no faith, until they make you (O Muhammad) judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept them with full submission."

    Here Allah is speaking to Muhammad and telling him that a Muslim is only a True Muslim when they obey him unquestionally and fully submit to his decisions. So how does Islam relate to the question of Terrorism? Let's explore.

    Perhaps the most relevant verse is Surah 9:29 which states:

    9:29 "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth, from among the People of the Book (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued."

    In this passage Allah instructs all devout Muslims to fight all people who do not believe in Islam until they pay the Jizyah in shame, which is a tax they must pay in order to not be killed. Certainly, this is not an isolated verse, this sentiment about fighting unbelievers is rampant throughout the Qur'an and the Hadiths.

    The Prophet himself was a brutal tribal warlord who spread Islam through Arabia with the sword. After the Prophet's death Muslims waged war on the Byzantine Empire, taking massive amounts of land in the Near East, North Africa and Spain.
    Even disregarding History and the life of Muhammed you can see countless open calls to Jihad (described as religious fighting in the name of Allah) within the Qur'an (the Holy book of Islam) and the Hadith (numerous collection of writings supposedly from those who knew Muhammed)

    In the Qu'ran, Mohammed clearly states that killing a Muslim is wrong IF AND ONLY IF they are a devout Muslim and also calls for the killing of Muslim apostates (people who leave Islam) and Muslim hypocrites (people who don't thoroughly follow Islam). In fact, Mohammed himself also complimented the first generation of Muslims by calling them the "best generation of Muslims" after they split into two different camps and almost wiped each other out in a big battle. All of the Muslim victims of ISIS's terror attacks follow a pattern: they were either Shiite Muslims, whereas ISIS is predominantly Sunni, left the religion, or violated a key Islamic tradition, and thus were deemed "hypocrites" and "apostates" by ISIS. The pattern is the same for all Muslim victims of Islamist terror- they were all deemed "hypocrites" and "apostates" by their Islamist killers. It is therefore foolish to label ISIS and other Islamists as being "un-Islamic" and "anti-Islamic" simply because they have killed, and are still killing, many Muslims.

    A religion which calls for the death of its apostates? A religion whose god continuously insults Jews (and Christians, to a certain extent)? A religion which forces non-Muslims to pay Jizya (tax), considers a woman's testimony and inheritance half of a man's, advocates stoning adulterers and homosexuals, encourages killing those who insult its prophet or god and promotes Arab Supremacism?

    I believe that Islam is indeed a religion of terror. While this doesn't necessarily apply to Muslims themselves, it certainly does apply to the religion's central texts including the Quran and the hadiths.

    Islam as a whole advocates the same values and morality as the other major world religions: selflessness, charity, self-sacrifice, peace, justice, respect for human life, etc. ISIS is not mainstream Islam, it's comprised of power-mad fanatics who twist the Islamic religion to rationalize their actions. Violence and atrocity is not religion's essence.

Don't judge it based on its followers or media, judge it based on its authentic books like the Quran and authentic hadiths.

    The topic of Islam and terrorism is such a touchy subject and of course, there is understandably animosity with history and recent events playing a perception in the Occident on Islamic culture.

    Firstly, we have to acknowledge the role the ‘Media’ or information filters, whatever you want to call it, play in portraying adherents of Islam as the Ultimate Evil. This successfully diminishes their humanity, characterizing players in this complicated chess board as being merely hell bent on attacking the Western world in general. Terrorism has been married exclusively in our image perception with the Middle East.

    What we do not hear are the motivations - and equally, our countries’ roles - which are at work in demanding self-sacrifice and destruction of human life and property in the name of faith. When you look closely at the men (or women, it depends) involved in terrorism attacks, you realize that the religion/ideology becomes a vehicle for pre-existing issues. It is oftentimes an outlet for frustrated, marginalized, angry youth in the West. Or, it is a tool, used by the powerful, to manipulate and control specific populations/social groups out of both fear and desperation in Islamic nations. As other, more powerful countries invade these regions in efforts to exploit their resources, the social order is upended, and the common people have little to no say in their lives. Families are torn apart. Children and women are left abandoned, as their men are killed or absorbed into the seemingly endless fighting. Culture is destroyed by fanatics who genuinely believe that there may be something to gain from complete and utter destruction and anarchy.

    Our leaders benefit from the political and social unrest in the East, as it just gives them an excuse for military intervention, or vv. The majority of citizens in Western countries are pitifully unaware of what is really going on in the Middle East and other Islamic-majority states. We only see the after effects (terrorism), with no explanation, leading to wild theories, xenophobia, and the clutching of pearls.

    Just because a person was born into islam does not mean that he or she is a part of terrorism.I am a christian and deep from my heart i say the Religious Extremists who say that everything is based on religion in my terms is defines as the true terrorist...Did god divide his people into religions.......... I'll explain with a simple example....To my mom I am am a son, to my sister I am a brother, for my grandparent I am their grandchild...Same as this christians call the father in heaven....Muslims call the allah.....But all are the same ..We all pray to our god and religions are just some means through which we speak to the god and it is not something that is meant to be used to ignite hatred among men

    There are approximately 1.8 billion Muslims in the world and if all of them were terrorists then there will be no chance of non-Muslims surviving. Also the word Islam means peace so why would the religion of peace promote terrorism?
    Allah does not insult Christians and Jews in fact in the Qur'an it says: "Those who believe (in the Qur’an), those who follow the Jewish scriptures, and the Sabians and the Christians – any who believe in Allah and the last day, and work righteousness – on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. "
    Surah 5: 69.
    If Islam was a religion of terror why would Muslims believe in it? Why would they except it as a way of living? People who don't know anything about Islam and what it's all about and are getting influenced by the media. Another thing, if you think women in Islam are oppressed they are not. I am a Muslim woman and I do not feel oppressed in any way. I love being Muslim it is my of life and I love the religion of Islam. I study it. I read the Qur'an and I wouldn't dream of hurting a fly never mind killing human beings.
    Islam does not say to kill non-believers. The prophet Muhammad pbuh said "Allah will not be merciful to those who are not merciful to mankind". In the Qur'an it says "respect and honour all human beings irrespective of their religion, race, sex, language, status, property, birth, profession/job and so on" (Qur'an 17/70)
