Is it wise to expect famous people to be role models?

  • Famous People Should Be good role models

Famous people are famous for a reason, whether it's good or bad. Role models can be utilized to see what you should aspire to as well as how to avoid the possible pitfalls. People often fail to realize that even a negative role model can be used as an example of what not to do for children.

  • No, it's not wise to expect famous people to be role models.

People become famous or infamous for many different reasons. You do not always get famous by being the most upstanding citizen or most qualified for the job you do. Many times fame leads people to behave poorly. Using the privileged celebrities as a role model for young people is a recipe for disaster.

  • Not A Wise Move

Given the plethora of bad examples, I do not believe it is wise to call famous people role models. I think we should expect role models out of the system however. If we can't have honesty and trustworthy people that we look up to, then what does that say about the community as a whole?

  • Some are not worthy.

No, it is not wise to expect famous people to be role models, because most of the people in Hollywood have problems. So many starlets, from Justin Bieber, to Miley Cyrus, to Linday Lohan, have just crashed when they have become famous. The pressure and not being told no is too much for them.
