Is John Kerry a good choice for Secretary of State?

  • A qualified candidate.

John Kerry is an excellent choice for the next Secretary of State for the United States of America. He has a long record of tremendous public service to the USA and has significant knowledge in international relations. While Hillary Clinton will be a tough act to follow, he is more than qualified to represent American interests.

  • Indeed He Is

John Kerry is an excellent choice for the next Secretary of State for the United States of America. He has a long record of tremendous public service to the USA and has significant knowledge in international relations. While Hillary Clinton will be a tough act to follow, he is more than qualified to represent American interests.

  • Kerry is Qualified

John Kerry is more than qualified for the Secretary of State position. Hillary Clinton was amazing at her job, and John Kerry will most likely be a great replacement. He has ample experience dealing with leaders of foreign nations and has a great reputation in Congress and with the American people.

  • Kerry Is A Good Choice

I think that John Kerry is a good choice for Secretary of State. He is very much qualified and would fit that position well. Kerry has succeeded in all of his other political jobs and I would expect the same from him if he was to get the job of Secretary of State.

  • John Kerry is a flip-flopper.

John Kerry cannot keep his positions straight.

    1) In 1996, he criticized Gov. William Weld of Massachusetts (a Republican) for supporting the death penalty for terrorists. Now, he supports it.

    2) Kerry voted for the PATRIOT Act saying that it was "necessary in the wake of Sept. 11." But, then in December 2008, Kerry was in Iowa campaigning for new legislation that would protect people and liberties at the same time.

    3) In 2009, on ABC's "Good Morning America", Kerry said he would have backed out of Iraq. But, even in 2004, he claimed to support the invasion of Iraq.

In short, I am saying that Kerry is a flip-flopper who cannot keep his positions straight and so is not competent for Secretary of State.

    P.S. I don't like Bush either.

  • He proved himself untruthful

In his younger years he lied about the "atrocities" of our troops in Vietnam, betraying the nation. He claimed that soldiers had acted in an utterly barbaric fashion which proved to be untrue. He also illegally met with the enemy in France during the Vietnam war. He has never apologized or repented of these things. How then can we trust him in this extremely high position of authority.

  • There is already too much liberalism in the cabinet as it is so this wasn't a good choice.

So that all Americans can have their interests better taken care of, there should be less liberalism in the cabinet. We need more conservative cabinet members to balance the cabinet out. Plus, I don't believe John Kerry has don'y anything to show that he is qualified for Secretary of State.
