  • Depends on the way you look at it.

For example, I find it that free will is a myth; religion is a joke; we are all controlled by a greater force.... Memes. And, in turn, we submit ourselves to the rules, directions, and recommendations of our elders and bosses. Everything continues on, a rotation of sorts, For all we know, this is not life, yet it is limbo. Maybe we have died already and this is the long fork in the road to our final destination. The sky or ground, if you will. Nobody knows where we go when we die, but I just hope the memes there are decent.

  • It is meaningless

We are all just specks of dust in the big scheme of the universe. Life is just a box of chocolates. They get eaten or go bad and no one wants them. Everyone wants children, but sometimes they get eaten or go bad and then no one wants them, and no one cares.

  • Yes .. Probably

Yes..Just because we exist doesn't necessarily means that life has a greater purpose ..I know it also doesn't mean that life doesn't have a greater purpose..
Truth being told..We can only 'believe' one of the two possibilities ..It's either purposeful or not
We can't 'know' which one is true..Until we die..
Voted on the positive side..So that it will go back to 50-50 (positive-negative)
The right balance in which this debate should be

  • No, not really

There may be the possibility that we are controlled by a greater force but even then there would be a meaning to life. That thing which would "control" us is the meaning. Another thing to look at is that if life is meaningless then why do we exist in the first place? Why are there so many thing leaning in our favor so that we can exist? Surely that must mean that there is a meaning to life, even if you haven't found that meaning yet.

  • Objectively yes, literally.. No

Mankind is nothing like anything on this planet before, the purpose of life in its natural state is simply to make more life, even bacteria obey this principle, but humans are sentient, capable of so much more than anything else, our live are what we make of it, your meaning is what thy make of it, reproduction is optional, and you, like all of mankind will be driven by the goals we set, had no one any goals we would all go insane.

  • Meaning is a human construct

... And can therefore be prescribed by humans. If we believe that life has meaning then it does - any analysis of meaning separate from belief is in itself meaningless as meaning is a form of belief. Life is the feature we ascribe to living organisms, which are in turn simply mechanisms that can take in energy and give it out in several forms.
