  • Yes it is

Smoking anything is harmful to your body. It also teaches your body not to respond correctly to endorphins when released from other things that make you happy. Besides killing brain cells and causing people to act idiotic and lazy, it just is plain bad for you cardiorespiratory system. So yes... Marijuana is bad

  • Yes, but...

Marijuana has been shown to be harmful in a lot of physical and mental ways when it is smoked by humans, but it is also considered to be less harmful than other drugs or stimulants used by humans to alter their reality. It is a shame that marijuana is illegal because hemp is a material that has a lot of uses in society but it is illegal to grow it. In actuality, marijuana is only harmful if we use it in a harmful way.

  • Harmful marijuana

Yes, in my personal and factual opinion, I do think that marijuana smoking is harmful to your body. It causes major impairment in judgment and can cause diseases in the future from smoking like cancer or empheysema. The only good I can see from it is that it can help patients with pain.

  • Marijuana, like all drugs, has harmful effects

Marijuana is generally considered to be harmful, the degree depends naturally on type and frequency of use. The THC in marijuana has multiple effects on brain function which can cause impairment and poor judgement. Frequent users also often report symptoms of withdrawal. Furthermore, if smoked, marijuana damages the lungs and increases the chances of lung cancer.

  • It cannot be good

Its a drug? If anyone possibly thinks a drug could be good in any way shape or form they are insane. You are litterally putting a disease in your body, so how is this a GOOD thing???? Please explain if you disagree.... Studies from people with PHDs and Ivy League Colleges say its bad. So if you possibly think its not, that is crazy.

  • Scientifically and Objectively

The newest science from the NIH and Johns Hopkins shows nearly the exact opposite of harmful. In fact it's very very beneficial. Let's say you eat it and not smoke it, now it's completely harmless and it's all up-side. For example: Neurogenesis -- around 4 weeks after taking it, new neurons are formed.

That's just 1 benefit, there are many many others, with absolutely NO negative effects given you do not smoke it.

Also, take into account the differences between Cannabis Indica and Cannabis Sativa, they are very very different. And only someone who actually uses it will know.

If you have preconceived notions, try tracing back where those came from. Yeah.....you were fed them through lies by the media.

The only thing you can do is actually use THC for 5 days. Then come back here and tell us it's bad for you.

    You won't.

  • Not Harmful in any way

Several tests have proven that marijuana is not harmful. It is much safer to use than legal drugs, and is actually healthy for you. The effects are nothing like alcohol, where the user can make terrible decisions and be physically impaired. To those saying it is harmful realize this; Smoking anything is harmful. So, guess what? You don't HAVE to smoke marijuana to get its effects!

  • No because it is completely natural!

You can't find any proof of it killing anybody what so ever. Now plenty of people will have their stories and such but I'm speaking specifically about marijuana by itself! Yes it is mind altering but you can't overdose on it. No crimes have happened because of it. I just spent the last hour trying to find facts on it to prove scientifically how harmless it really is. Plus I couldn't find any proof of marijuana specifically causing car accidents or deaths. So there go ahead look it up from a real source, not just any website. A war on a God made thing, a plant.

  • I do not believe marijuana is harmful in adults.

In my opinion, I believe marijuana is only harmful to those who are still developing brain cells. The people that I see and hear about doing dumb things while under the influence of marijuana, are usually under the age of 19 and most likely started using at a young age. On top of that, it seems that when you hear about accidents of any nature occurring because someone was under the influence of marijuana, its always a mixture of marijuana with alcohol or another drug, but never marijuana by itself.

  • Only insofar as other "harmless" things are "harmful".

Many things we have today which we consider benign are in some way potentially harmful. The question is not whether one can point to a specific trait of marijuana and declare it "harmful" but rather the question is whether one can point to he overall impact on the general welfare and objectively show it to be detrimental when taken as a whole. People clearly have some sort of need for intoxication and drug use as recreation, else people would respect the law and simply not use those drugs. So the prohibition of marijuana is clearly more harmful than marijuana. In the best of all worlds we might relieve the human need for drugs, but this is NOT yet that world. In this way it is not the marijuana that is particularly harmful, but rather the harmful thing is our drive to become intoxicated.

  • Actually...

Marijuana is not actually linked to lung cancer. All of the studies performed have been studies with marijuana and tobacco as a combination which doesn't show the results of smoking marijuana by itself. Although it does impair judgment, it does not significantly impact the respiratory system. In fact, marijuana is actually used for the treatment of cancer in some cases along with other diseases such as HIV, AIDS, migraines, and sleep disorders.
