  • Meat is hard to digest

Yes, meat is hard to digest. Meat is hard to digest for humans because they eat way too much and cook it in very unhealthy ways. You can survive with no meat at all so we don't have to eat it. In the past humans ate less meat and had a healthier balanced diet. Most people that give up meat even for a little while will say they felt better and had more energy when they were not eating meat.

  • I haven't gotten sick off of every piece of meat I have ever eaten.

Provided you eat sufficient fiber, there is nothing wrong with meat.

When you hear a claim like this, take it with a grain of salt, and see where it's from.

Is it from a reliable source? Or is it from fringe doctors and vegan propaganda websites?

Yes meat does rot in your gut....Into feces.

  • Eating meat is natural.

Humans have evolved from ancestors specifically for eating meat. Our digestive systems have changed and formed around the mechanisms of eating and digesting meat. It has historically been one of the main sources of protein for us, and has allowed our brains to develop into the wondrous organs they are today. I would say eating meat is natural and relatively easy for humans.

  • Not in and of itself, No

Look in a mirror and look at your teeth. Feel them with your tongue. Notice the ones in front are sharper. That's because they are for slicing apart meat. They are called incisors.
Humans are meant to eat meat, attacking the eating of meat puts everyone on the defensive and doesn't do us any good. Animal welfare is a real issue however, and we need new regulations to make sure animals in slaughterhouses are treated humanely as they are raised and when they are slaughtered. Another real issue is consumer safety. The way companies raise animals is unnatural and harmful to consumers and needs to be more regulated. This doesn't mean we should all stop eating meat, it means we should change the way in which animals are raised for and processed into meat both for their sake and our own

  • We've been eating meat since the dawn of our existence.

Ancestrally speaking we have been carnivorous since before we evolved from neanderthals. "Meat" in general is a necessity for our bodies to survive naturally and it is ludicrous to think that it's natural for us to survive with out it. We can survive without it, but it's not natural. With that said, meat is digested just fine by humans.
