Is military force equally justified (yes) or should we fight for peace (no)?

  • Military Force should be a last resort but should be considered necessary in the event of an impending war

Military Force should be a last resort but should be considered necessary in the event of an impending war. As a united states citizen I feel that we don't do enough for peace. But then again we are mostly justified by going to war. I feel that war is justified but only as a total last resort.

  • With military force comes exploitation...

There hasn't been a case in the world were a world superpower has entered a country with the intent of 'restoring peace' (or commonly phrased as 'restoring democracy') and exploiting that country's national resources. For example: Afghanistan. The U.S supposedly entered the country with the intent to squash any terrorist organizations (chiefly the Taliban) instead it remained there siphoning all of Afghanistan's oil reserves (there are still 3.6 billion barrels left) and the Taliban still are rampant throughout Afghanistan. To summarize each country should be given the bare minimum when comes to solving its dilemmas unless it is being instigated by a problem outside its borders.
