  • Modern Society is ruining Childhoods in Many ways

Right now, technology advancements are a huge part of modern culture. Technology is effecting children in many bad ways, and causing less conversations and time with family. Also, advertisements play a large role in childhoods. The amount of time children spend in front of the TV effects them. Advertisements can cause a higher obesity rate, and can cause lower self esteem. Lastly, role models teaching children horrible things

  • Modern Culture is ruining childhood!

We are now in a digital world. A world were everything we want comes to us with very little effort. It is a time where we exchange our a small one on one chat for our Facebook information instead. A time where life is at a faster pace than ever before, this means more cooking at home because you're late for school or work. Or order so pizza cause you're too tired from school or work. It is the time where parents want peace and quiet time, so they mute their kids with tablets, iphones, video games. It's fum for the kids and easy for the parents, but this isn't what we need. What we need are stronger, smarter, healthier children, and if is cost us a little extra work then so be it. Our children's future is a stake here!

  • The age of entitlement and instant gratification is ruining childhood, adulthood and everything else.

The digital age is upon us. Kids and adults would rather bury themselves into their smart phone or tablet than unplugging and talking with each other. Combine that with a growing belief that government exists to provide us with everything we need and is their to fix our personal problems; the long term effects on our society, our country, our world will be devastating.

  • This generation is being ruined by all

Children today are doing whatever they want. Unfortunately now a days these new people who never had kids in their whole life are working in the child services department. You can't lay a single finger on your child, even of its life theatening. Yes there is boundaries but today, we allow them to, "grow up" too fast. Young kids are having babies when they themselves are babies. It has nothing to do with a new generation. There are so many dropouts because they don't have the full support. People worry about the wrong things, not the right things. Want to help a kid? Let the parent take control, and help them at school. Only step in when the parent is abusing the child, not when they get a spanking for doing something ridiculous.

  • Hopelessness for children

Modern media is making hopeless for new generations. Why, you may ask?Because media lets down children by saying there isn't a god which means no holidays.Kills the joy and spirit of holidays. But not only that, modern society is making kids lazier by the minute. If kids can't last a day without technology, a month for that fact of matter. So who the hell can, we blame for all this?Modern media? No, the government .Its the governments fault for not controlling the media, for not doing anything about extinction of cute little animals that kids love and adore. What can we do? Only protest.

  • Definitely

Modern society is turning children into lazy, spoiled brats, who feel they deserve everything without having to work for it. Children are growing up into teenagers and then young adults who are lazy, unmotivated, and don't know the value of a dollar. They all want to update Facebook, drink, and take the easy road in all aspects of life.

  • I am 17 and wish to place my opinion on the matter.

Though early in life i would run and play in the back yard i quickly grasped on to the technological side of life. With the games industry rapidly expanding, gaming became a hobby of mine.
Kingdom Hearts, Halo, Call Of Duty, Smite these are games i still play to this very day. So you see that was MY CHILDHOOD and i loved every second of it. -Zero Miller

  • No, children won't let it.

Whatever time a child is born into is fresh and new for them, and they take for granted the way things are as natural. We might look back at our own childhoods with nostalgia and think that it was better then, but the kids today are experiencing life as brand new, and I think it would be quite difficult to ruin it for them.

  • No. This question has been asked by every generation, and the answer is always the same.

It is difficult for a society as a whole to ruin a childhood. This question is always asked by a generation of parents and grandparents who are witnessing things in their children's lives that they simply don't understand. Every child is able to adapt to the perimeters of his or her environment and find something wonderful. Just think about all of the things that "kids now-a days" are talking about. That is their childhood!

  • No, childhood is always based on modern society.

We are in the age of computers. That is not a reason to think that 'modern society' is ruining childhood, because childhood has always been based on the society of the time. Just because we have computers and the internet doesn't mean childhood is being ruined, in fact, I'd say facebook and the like only enhance the childhood experience.
