  • What a load of bab

Basically after studying the FLDS I am appalled. The Book of Mormon and the doctrines teach girls to basically worship their husbands, who fyi they have to share, as if they were a God. Men compare there selves to God. Being a Christian i find this highly irritating. No one is equal to God, he is the higher power. Secondly, they abuse girls as young as 12, and listen to men who claim to be 'prophets' of the Lord tell them to do bogus stuff like dont drink soda, wear red or cut your hair. Youre gonna need that hair to wash your husbands feet in heaven. I DONT THINK SO. The Bible is truth, it was written by people who knew Jesus Christ at the time he was alive. The Book of Mormon? Written by a load of gadges that claim to know God personally and are obviously so arrogant they feel the need to gain millions of followers, be racist and rape loads of children and their 50 wives. THIS IS WRONG. God is forgiving, loving and non judging.

  • It goes against the bible it fake and rubbish

Surely if they are meant to be Christians their book should still match the bile just like Catholics and Methodists read the same book but may believe in slightly different things but it's still based on the bible. Mormon is fake and is based on so called fake golden plates. How can an angel say polygamy is right to joseph smith when in the bible it CLEARLY says that polygamy is wrong. God wouldn't say one thing then change it and tell people something else.So it fake and rubbish

  • A trindmiaf tale

Our tale begins over six thousand years ago, with the Mormon claim that human beings originated with two-extraterrestrials from the environs of a super-star known as Kolob; which incidentally is located at the center of the Milky Way Galaxy. These two naked and nubile human shaped deities, (replete with fully functioning primate genitalia, blind-spots in their eyes, tailbones and appendixes), came down to our earth, which they had created like a giant cake by using the parts and pieces of other earths which had been destroyed because they were evil, or half-assed, or full of Democrats or their cosmic equivalents or those who simply didn't receive their "celestial" glory known as exaltation. Adam acting as Michael, his pre-mortal, deity-self, had co-created the earth with the deities Jehovah and Elohim, known to Mormons as Grandpa God and Great Grandpa God respectively.

On this earth, the two naked extra-terrestrials came to live in a magical garden known as the Garden of Eden, where everything was swell. The air was swell, the food was swell, and Eve was naked, so that was swell too. Suddenly, a talking snake entered this staid scene at creation's dawn and entreated the new nudists to eat the fruit from a magical yet deity forbidden fruit tree.
This fruit-filled dilemma all happened in the environs of Jackson County Missouri U.S.A. or better known to Mormons as 'Adam-ondi-Ahman' or the future site of the big priesthood key passing party before Elohim sends Jehovah back to the earth sporting a red robe and wielding a bottle of celestial disinfectant to send the bad guys packing.

Mormons claim that Adam and Eve were real people and the progenitors of humanity.

What does the scientific evidence reveal?

Through the mapping of the human genome, scientists have proven once again the factual reality of human evolution. Not only does our DNA unite us with every life form on this planet, but also to the rocks, metals and minerals of the earth such as the iron in your blood or the gold in your ring, both of which were formed in the cores of suns. Scientists have also discovered through our DNA that we do have a common parentage which unites us to Africa, the continent of our species’ birth. Our DNA reveals that our common mother, Mitochondrial Eve and our common father, Y-Chromosomal Adam are separated from one another by over 150,000 years; which can prove to be quite a challenge when trying to sire the human race in a magical garden, with magical fruit in Jackson County Missouri some 6,000 years ago.

This profound discovery has forever disturbed and destroyed the origin tale of magic fruit, with magic progenitors, in a magic garden with a talking snake yonder in Eden; be that Eden between the rivers of the Tigris and Euphrates of Mesopotamian fame, or the environs of Jackson County, Missouri U.S.A.

There was no Adam and Eve.
We are in evolution’s charge and born children of the universe.

  • As every religion.

Pretty much every religion, when studied thoroughly, shows a distinct mythological nature and an evolution from older myths. The origins lie in primitive mankind attempting to try and explain the world around him. Can't figure out why earthquakes happen? Must be the wrath of the gods!

So while I would say Mormonism is obviously mythological, it certainly isn't alone.

  • It is obvious

It is obviously fake because i have studied mormonism and it is basically the stupidest thing in the world. Joseph smith was so obviously just trying to gain followers and the people of the time period were too trusting and trusted the wrong person in a matter that they should not have.

  • The evidence points to yes.

I am not going to claim to be an expert on Mormonism but from what I have learnt on the subject I have to say that it is an obvious fake. The whole mythology is nonsensical. It seems like an obvious attempt to get personal power whilst adding some greater spiritual significance to the American people who from a big picture point of view are no more special than the rest of the world.

The whole business with the seer stones is pretty suspicious as well. But I think the most telling sign is the huge amounts of evidence against some of the more sensational historic claims of the book of mormon. There is no evidence of any advanced socieities in North America before the arrival of the Europeans.

I am not convinced by any religions arguments for the existence of a God and I think the only difference between Mormonism and any other religion is that it is even more obviously made up by people.

  • The Book of Abraham is False !

The Book of Abraham revered as scripture is total fiction as it does not match its source text.
This alone makes Smith a false prophet and disanulls his claim to be sent by God.
The book of Mormon is mystical and has no recognized source material still available to mankind. Since Joseph is on record to be a Liar, Narcissist, Hypocrite, Magician, Manipulator and Sexual predator he can not be trusted and his core claim hence is invalid, regardless of how much divine inspiration he has contributed to this world otherwise. Mormonism is essentially mythical and this in a most powerful way. It has started mystically and is now defended rationally, spiritually and emotionally by a lovely likeable and wholesome people that is generally well educated and a positive pillar of modern society. It is the most paradoxical modern syncretistic religion and mixes Christianity and Paganism in a most subtle way.

  • Depends on how much you know.

Mormonism may not be obviously fake to an outsider or to somebody who is just being introduced to the subject, but I think the more you delve into it, the more obviously it is faked. I read the BOM back in 2008, and it was obviously a product of the 19th century. It was full of anachronisms. And if you know anything about the history surrounding the Book of Abraham, it's obvious that Joseph Smith was just a con man.

  • It goes against the bible it fake and rubbish

  • I think that's overstating it a bit.

I wouldn't say that it's an obvious fake. I find that disrespectful to Mormons and it implies that they know better. That implies that they are being dishonest. I don't buy that. I think it is clearly a fake. But one has to be privy to all the relevant facts in order to see that. Mormons genuinely believe their religion to be true. So it's not obvious to them at least. Many people join their religion so it's not obvious to them either. One needs to be exposed to the truth about Mormonism in order to see what's wrong with it.

  • Quite the opposite

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints was established in 1830 by Joseph Smith Jr. Despite bitter persecution, Joseph Smith never denied that the church was true and ended up being killed because of it. Many of the apostles left the church but not one of them denied having seen an angel and the Gold plated which became known as the book of Mormon.

Many Theories have come up to attempt to disprove the book of Mormon but they had all failed to do so. The Book of Mormon has been scrutinized several times but no one can find fault in it. It simply could not have been made up by Joseph Smith as contains many truths that he would not have been aware of. It does in fact support the Bible in many ways. The promise of the book is that any reader asking God if it's true with a sincere heart, will know the truth of it by the power of the Holy Ghost.

  • Maybe it is. Who are you to say if it is or not?

I'm obviously agnostic, but have taken the time to study different religions and this is one of them. Also, Book of Mormon is my all time favorite musical and well explains the religion pretty well! It may be out there and different but all religions are. Who are you to say it is wrong or right? Since you have no proof to back it up leave it alone. Let everyone have their own religions and be tolerate!

  • I am Mormon

You might think that because I am Mormon I will automatically have a bias on this, but there are several things to prove that we are not as fake as any other religion. 1) We read the bible just like every other Christian church and believe the majority of what's in it. 2) Most of the points that go to yes have no evidence to support that our religion if "fake". 3) We believe in a God and therefore are no more "wrong" than any other religion. And even if there is no God at least we have lived our standards and there will be no consequence for that when we die.

  • Most Rediculous Religion

I do not support the "Mormon Ways". Typically because it is a fake BIBLE. Therefore, Im trying not to judge the so called "RELIGION", But Mormons should try reading the actual "Holy Bible". What happens in the end of the world, IS whats happening right in front of our faces and it simply states it in the Holy Bible. -S.Kenyon-

Maybe. Maybe not. I mean this is religion we are talking about. You can not just say it is fake. Back it up. Use evidence.

@1980vu We can very easily back it up. Check out the stuff the Mormon church claims about the Americas history and then look up any archeological evidence for it. Or even look up the oppinions on Mormon claims from the Smithsonian.
