Is neoconservatism responsible for the war in Iraq that the United States began in 2003?

  • Sounds that way

There was a serious push by the right wing groups of neoconservatives that wanted the war in Iraq. These people seem to want wars any time a conflict stirs up somewhere in the world. To be fair there was many Democrats who drank the Kool-aid, and thought the war on Iraq was a good idea.

  • Dick Cheney lied to start the Iraq War

Q: How did the US "know" that Saddam Hussein had chemical weapons?
A: Because they saved the bills of lading.

White phosphorus (WP, or "Willie Pete") artillery shells cause horrendous burns to human flesh, but it was simply business as usual when US tax dollars supplied them to Saddam Hussein to use against the Kurds and other dissidents.

Only after Saddam Hussein started posturing against the US did we suddenly hear the claim that these were "chemical" munitions. But the facts of chemistry remained the same all along.

  • Neonconservation responsible For The War

I personally think that the Neoconservatism is a political movement based in fear of other nations and cultures. Once the terrorism acts of 2001 happened, this fear was played on by people in power who saw it as a means to their own aggrandizement. So it led President Bush to have the ability to wage war on Iraq instead of directly on the terrorists

  • Yes, people have become afraid of others.

  • Neoconservatism is not responsible

Neoconservatism is not responsible for the war in Iraq in 2003. This was started because it was the right thing to do because Saddam Hussein was breaking international laws repeatedly. George W. Bush or Dick Cheney are not neoconservatives. Many nations, including America believed that Iraq was using weapons of mass destruction.
