  • Peer Pressure is always good..

Peer pressure always beneficial as long as we know our limits... It is all up to us to be so strong, so unshakable that we not influenced by our peers. When a regular school kid is with a group of students who love reading books and discuss about it every day, the kid might too take up the wonderful habit of reading books. Now, can't this be blamed on peer pressure as well. Yes, the negative effect... Well, what are the negative effects of peer pressure?? Drinking alcohol, smoking, getting addicted to drugs?? Well friends, that again comes down to being strong and firm and filled with conviction of not going on the wrong track. So it all comes down to us.

  • Friend in need is a friend in deed

They encourage us in our bad times and try their level best to support us in our good decision. So as to develop our confidence and reach the heights of success. They are our friends (well-wishers) and they will always wish our good and so don't give bad suggestions or force us to do something which is wrong and can have a bad effect on our life.

  • It is Benificial

Peer pressure is not always bad. It can help you reflect on yourself. Peers may teach you good things and encourage you to follow them. Looking at what others do, can help you bring a positive change in your way of thinking. If you can pick selectively, peer pressure can push you towards something positive. For example, when a child knows that some of his friends regularly read storybooks or that they have subscribed to a library, even he feels tempted to do so. He may get into the habit of reading because of his peers. Seeing that some of your friends exercise daily, even you may take up the habit. Positive peer pressure can lead you to adopt good habits in life.
Your peers, their choices and ways of life give you a glimpse of the world outside the four walls of your house. What they think about things in life, how they perceive situations, how they react in different circumstances can actually expose you to the world around. Being part of a larger group of peers exposes you to the diversity in human behavior. This makes you reflect on your behavior and know where you stand. Peer pressure can lead you to make right choices in life.
If you are fortunate enough to get a good peer group, your peers can influence the shaping of your personality in a positive way. Their perspective of life can lead you to change yours. It's not pressure every time; sometimes it's inspiration, which makes you change for good. For example, positive peer pressure can make you quit smoking or give up bad habits that you may have. Your peers can inspire you to become more optimistic or more confident. Your peers may influence you to change and make you a better human being.
If the peer group happens to be in school, you will discover a lot of positive changes happening in your teenager. Since the urge to ‘belong’ to a peer group is all about feeling included and accepted, there is also this natural tendency to behave and become ‘like’ other members of a peer group. Therefore when the members of the peer group believe in doing well in class and doing their regular lessons with care, you will find your child also following suit.
The direct effect can be observed in the grades. The teenager will not only learn to focus on his studies but will also show an inclination in getting involved and participating is several extra curricular and sports activities in school.
Whether the peer group comprises of school friends, neighborhood friends or cousins of an extended family, the effect can always be seen on your child. Amongst the other apparent effects, you will find that the communication skills of the teen improving significantly. His approach, attitude and behavior will always be positive.
He will learn to value relationships and will learn that it is important to become and responsible individual.

  • If you are fortunate to get a good peer group, your peers can play a vital role in the shaping of your personality.

The effect of peer pressure depends on the peer group you have(good or bad) . Always have a good peer group, they will surely play a vital role in shaping your personality which would be of course permanent for your future. But if you have a bad peer group then it would give an opposite impact over you.

  • Yes, it is

A thin which teaches you to behave in the world has to be beneficial. It helps us inculcate good habits. It is very useful for a society animal like human. I really could not understand why is it not beneficial? For me, it is very important to fit in our society.

  • Acquire bad habits

Peer, influence us even if we don't realize it by just spending time with us.They force us to do a such kind of thing in which we are not comfortable doing. They may also lead us to adopt a certain kind of lifestyle which we don't want. You may not like partying everyweakend, you may not like smoking but peer pressure is so powerful that it can turn you from a non smoker to chain smoker

  • Peer pressure is beneficial

Properly managed and controlled peer pressure environment can be a great motivating force. Peer pressure according to me is beneficial not only to an individual but also to the associated business. Pressure from the colleagues increases competition which leads to increased performance and efficiency. It ultimately has a positive effect on the business.

  • Peer pressure is beneficial

Peer pressure is always linked with a person forcing or persuade to do something wrong. But it is not so as it the is the person s own decision to do or not do it. When a person loses his self control and does something it is given the name of peer pressure which is wrong. A person does such a job to get get rid of a tag he is is given by his fellow mates or to get the cool tag ...And this shows the selfishness of the person. In case a person is not left with a choice but to do the task given then it is manhandling and not peer pressure. Not everyone is affected by the words of others so there is something wrong going in the society but it cannot termed as peer pressure .

  • Peer pressure is beneficial especially for women

As we all know that human beings are social animals and we need to live in this society. We have to face this world and learn from its principles and create a personality. Yes it is true that one must fight the currents and go ahead but it's not applicable in all aspects of life. The greatest example is that of adolf hitler. He had his own perceptions and opinions. It led to his own end and widespread destruction.

  • Peers are beneficial...But I do not believe PEER PRESSURE is...!

    Peer Pressure Among Teenagers

I disagree, because if your friends and/or other people are trying to encourage you to do something good then it really isn't peer pressure. That is called giving good advice, or friendly encouragement. Peer pressure is when people try to encourage you or pressure you to do something that is against your better judgement, which in most cases tends to be something that is usually and/or potentially harmful.

  • Peer pressure is not beneficial

When we can see in everyday life how peer pressure affects us, how the hell can we call it beneficial??? I've seen people throw away the whole of their future just to "fit in" and lose their unique identities in the process. Today we have more to fear the opinions of our friends than the bayonets of our enemies.

  • Always is too inclusive

Cyberbullying/bullying related teen suicide incidents alone prove that peer pressure is not 'always' beneficial. There are cases in which peer pressure (keeping grades up to match those of fellow peers). It is unfair put 'always' into the question since there are positive and negative sides. A better question would be: Is peer pressure more beneficial than not?

  • The decisions may go wrong

In taking decisions we consult decisions of our friends. But we wont think about our comfortability and go with the peers. At last it may create a lot of problem to us but not to them.According to my opinion peer groups influence is not beneficial but harmful.Sometimes or always it used to be like that, that is the good teens may get addicted to drugs, drinking habits etc.And it has been happening in our day to day life. Am not completely opposing it but there should be a limit.

  • It is more harmful than beneficial

Peer pressure is not always benificial Peer pressure is not always benefecial. Our companions may be good or bad. If they are bad , they pressurise us to get addicted to bad habbits. For instance: if one friend forced the other to smoke, then he would smoke coming under the pressure and temptation created by his friend. In this way he would get addicted to smoking and would spoil his health and life . So, one should try not to come peer pressure. It would be good for us.

  • Its not beneficial

The essence of our choice gets lost from our lives. When someone gives you a good advise then it is a different thing and when a peer or a friend forces or puts pressure on you then that is different. He may be either right or wrong. When a friend forces his peers to do something wrong then it is bad and if right then its good but mostly it is bad.

  • No I don't think so

When someone gives you a good advise then it is a different thing and when a peer or a friend forces or puts pressure on you then that is different. He may be either right or wrong. When a friend forces his peers to do something wrong then it is bad and if right then its good but mostly it is bad.

  • Is peer pressure always beneficial?

When you do not like a particular idea or when you have no inclination towards a particular field, it is obvious that you won 't like to go by it. For sure, you won 't like to go that way. But it is your peer group, which may compel you on doing something you hate. In such cases, there are chances that you won 't do well in those things. Things you do not enjoy doing cannot fetch you success. You cannot emerge successful in something you have never liked doing. So, it is important that you do not lose happiness of your life by succumbing to peer pressure.

  • Peer pressure is not always benificial

  • No peer pressure may not always be benefecial

Our companions some may be good and some may be bad . The bad companions create a pressure on us to get addicted to bad habbits. So, this may be harmful for us.For example one friend may force the other to smoke. Due to the pressure and temptation created by his friend, he would smoke. But this will be harmful for him. So, peer pressure is always not benefecial.
