While it is good that Pope Francis appears to be focusing on the poor and the needy, unlike his predecessor and that he has made some statements that lead one to believe that he is trying to soften his views on homosexuality, he still holds to the belief that gay marriage is a sin. It is a good start, but I hope to see more.
As opposed to the usual, Pope Francis is standing up for the people in general, as opposed to the establishment. Pope Francis has shamed frivolous spending in the face of poverty. While this is not generally the stance, as the church tends to cater to wealthy people, in hope for donations, Pope Francis is standing for what's right.
