To use Pascal's Wager for a moment. I wouldn't go as far as to say it's better to just blindly accept religion, but it is definitely better to consider it. The claim of religion hold's the weight of eternity with it and your destination therin. You're worth the extra thought.
Religion has made the biggest difference in human history and it is the most important thing in life for most people. It claims to answer eternal questions; is there a higher being or reality, and if there is, what is it? Why are we are? What is the purpose of our lives? What happens after we die? Religion is either the world's biggest truth or the world's biggest lie. To take the two most recent examples, religion motivated most civil rights activists in the 1960s and it motivates most pro-lifers and suicide bombers today.
Religion is nothing more than morals based on the fiction that was created back when man didn’t have sciences or the scientific method to make large strides and were desperate for answers. So, they turned to a mythical sky god for answers and that mentality has stuck with us to this very day. We're letting shit like the bible and the Quran act as anchors holding us down from exploring new horizons.
