  • Yeah, its tougher.

Rugby is continuous, you constantly run around and hit people. Rucks and scrums are far harder than blocking. Rugby is fast paced, it doesn't stop every three seconds. No pads, no breaks all the time, and lots of hitting. Rugby is also more of a gentlemen's sport. I'm American and I've played both. Rugby is so much better.

  • Rugby players are proper sportsmen

Football has become such big business that those who play it have lost sight of what made them love the game in the first place, that is, the game for its own sake. While rugby is going down the same road in some countries we have not yet reached the stage where the players think only of their win/scoring pay bonus and still play rugby because they enjoy it.

  • A mans sport!

Rugby is twice as good as football for a number of reasons! The players respect the referees, the players respect other players, the players are more civilised, THEY DON'T DIVE WHEN SOMEONE TOUCHES THEM! They don't fake injuries and so many more! Also footballers earn way too much money! Rugby is defiantly twice as good!

  • I love rugby

But come on, it's just not the same league. Rugby's a tiny market, only 6 fully pro leagues, not the same intensity, not the same potential for amazing underdog victories, little to no surprise overall.
Don't be frustrated, don't compare two sports that have stricly nothing in common. Rugby is a very "bourgeois" sport, and comparing it to soccer will only make you come across as a bitter loser because you grew up not being good enough at football and had to resort to playing a less competitive sport.
