  • Aang is so much better

He is obviously better while watching legend of Korra, Korra bored me out every moment she was on screen while aang was actually a good character. Korra is not a good avatar she seems to just get lucky and not work so hard like aang does. Aang's series was much better!!!!

  • Aang is og!!!!!!!!!

Korra would be bending just air if AANG didn't meet the Lion Turtle. He is the first Avatar to have the power of taking away bending. He would have done everything she did but better if taking on her challenges. No doubt about it. If you think Korra is better you don't know what you are talking about . If you have an IQ over 2 you will agree with me. AANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IS!!!!!!!!!!! BETTER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAN!!!!!!!!!!!! HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - such a dic all you Korra fans .

  • Aang is better

Aang is a much better avatar than Korra because if you break up the question it becomes two, Who is the best bender and who is the best with their spiritual connections? Korra was defeated so many times it's unbelievable she was the avatar. She may have been a great bender with 3 natural elements, but Aang mastered every single one in a year and was a master airbender at the age of 12 (that's why he has his arrows) Korra also struggled to learn airbending. Aang takes the cake with bending. Now, spiritually Aang was still stronger. Korra lost her connection with her past lives and nearly failed to beat Vatuu if it wasn't for Jinora. She struggled to enter the spirit world in season 1 as well. Aang's spiritual connection was much stronger and he actually asked previous avatars for help. Korra went in blindlessly and most of the time failed. Aang proves to be victorious. Bonus Points: Korra lost her bending but Aang gave it back and taught her how to give and take bending. Aang in the Avatar State is also less of a wimp. Korra in the avatar state can be beaten up terribly (shown in season 3 when she battled Zaaher.) Aang is basically unstoppable in the avatar state besides when Azula zapped him. In his battle with ozai, he goes apeshit after playing defensive the entire fight. Aang is a better Avatar and bender.

  • Aang is much better

He learnt how to use energy bending, that was used to restore Korra's abilities. Not only that Aang was just as immature as Korra, but he was way more humble than Korra. Aang is the one who stopped a blood bender, whilst it took Korra a whole season if not more. Lastly, Aang brought more peace than Korra, because he resolved a 100 YEAR FUED, so stfu about Korra being better

  • Aang beats Korra anyday

Aang can beat korra anyday because honestly he is a better bender, say they were on equal terms, same age, same level of knowledge of bending. Aang would beat korra because he is able improvise everything on the spot. Look at his fight against Ozai, he basically was on a defensive until he basically went ape shit against him. Korra on the other hand had an idea to beat everybody, even if it didn't work she still had an idea of what to do.

A second thing that makes aang a better bender is that if they were the same age, let's say eighteen, Aang would have become a way stronger bender in the 6 years between, while korra when she was 18 was still kinda learning air

A third thing is korra wouldn't be the avatar still if aang hadn't given her back her bending

  • Korra is better than Aang period

When you look at the question you can split it up into 2 questions. 1. Who is more powerful/who can in in a fight. And 2. Who is the better Character/Avatar. To me I think Korra wins both. I read a lot of peoples answers and many think that Aang is more powerful than korra but I disagree. Throughout the whole Korra series it was mostly about Korra finding herself and that journey concluded in book 4 with Korra after years and years of hardships can overcome and do anything. Zaeer said in book 4 after Korra said her powers had limits but then Zaeer said "I think your power is limitless". I knew that would come back into the finale and was right when Korra blocked the Spirit weapon and even Kuvira realized Korra was way more powerful than her. I still agree that Aang is a very powerful Avatar but I think Korra can do much more than Aang making her able to beat him in a fight.

Now the second question deals with Character and whos is better. I think Korra wins this too. Korras character arc was much better than Aangs and way more intriguing. Aangs arc basically involved this. He started out as a very goofy and powerful kid and ended a very goofy and powerful preteen. Of course he grew up to be amazing man but im just talking about the confines of the show. Korra on the other hand had a much better story arc. She started out as a bratty, selfish teenage girl with romance problems and by the end turned into a selfless and extremely powerful Young women. I think most of that is due to the short arcs in the Korra story compared to the long arcs in Avatar. Also the villains in both series were amazing but I think we got to see Korras character brought out more in a several villains aspect of the show.

In the end the very definition of being an avatar is bringing balance to the world and even though Aang did bring balance by ending the 100 year war and starting Republic city he still fell short of korra. Korra had to defeat a master blood bender and have to deal with losing her bending. Then she had to deal with losing the only spiritual help she had, after that she got paralyzed and completely hit rock bottom and with no help from the other avatars she found her self again. And through all of that she managed to keep the world balanced making her the better Avatar.

  • Aang beats Korra

First of all, Aang did not have just enemy. Over the course of the seasons, he faced many more enemies than Korra ever did. He faced not just the firelord, but also Zuko, Azula, Ti Lee, Mei, combustion man, zhoa, jet snd more. And also, he mastered all of the elements in a year, unlike Korra.

  • Korra is emotionally stronger

First off Korra is older so she is more mature than Aang, and she has went up against hardcore villains that didnt just want to kill her but her entire past lives. Legend of Korra is just on a much deeper level than Avatar. Not to mention Korra is dealing with more political issues and she is pretty damn hot..Dont even get me started on korrasmi

  • Aang winning the fight

Another thing Aang has over Korra that might help in a fight (even though she is the better Avatar) is Sandbending. Korra couldn't even Sandbending the sand off of the aircraft after it crashed. While Aang actually practiced with Toph. This is another advantage he would have in a fight.

  • Better Avatar. Korra wins. Better fighter. Aang wins (but that's not the question)

Korra has done more to bring Balance to the world (an Avatar's job after all). She brought around peace THREE times (the Equalists, the Anarchists, and the Uniter), brought back the Spirits to the physical world, open up multiple portals to the spirit world, and brought back the Air Nomad nation (I believe this to be her most Balancey accomplishment). She did this against (in my opinion) more difficult circumstances.
A full time Bloodbender (not just during a Full moon), who found a way to take away bending (with a small army of Chi Blockers), another extremely powerful Waterbender with incredible spirit powers whom became the Dark Avatar and could corrupt spirits to do his bidding, a group of near unbeatable benders that hatched a plan to take away all forms of leadership throughout the world, including permanently removing the Avatar from the Cycle, and lastly an army of Earthbending/Metalbending troops who were in the midst of trying to take over the world, using Spirit Energy wielding Mecha. (Sorry about the run-on sentence)
Aang took on an army of Firebenders whose leader was the most powerful Firebenders of the era. So he brought around peace ONE time. He did start a small nation built on equality, but that still doesn't compare (and this happened between series, who know what else Korra might accomplish?).

In a fight, Aang. He was a savant at Airbending, which I think will be the final factor.
Korra did learn Metalbending and Healing and Aang learned Seismic Sense and Lightning Redirection. So both of them are capable of learning more subspecialties (but I am assuming this fight takes place right after each's series finales). Zaheer showed us that a powerful Airbender is nearly unstoppable, yet Tenzen would have won that battle if not for the rest of Zaheer's group. Even then, Tenzen held his own against another Airbender, a Earth/Lava bender, and a very talented Waterbender until the Combustionbender stepped in. So in my opinion, Aang's mastery of Airbending gives him a huge edge.

  • Avatar Aang and Korra are both great

Avatar Aang and Avatar Korra both accomplished great things in their life. Avatar Aang successfully ended the hundred year war at the age of 12. He then went on to create Republic City along with Fire Lord Zuko. Aang only had a year to master 3 elements as he had already mastered air. He also gained the ability to energy bend from a lion turtle. He learnt his bending ability from the some of the greatest benders in history. Avatar Korra struggle slightly more than Aang. In book 1 she lost her waterbending, Eathbending and Firebending. In book 2 she lost the connection to her past lives which means she could no longer seek wisdom from her past lives. She had to make her own choices. In book 3 she was poisoned by Zaheer and it took her 3 years to recover mentally and physically. In book 4 she had to deal with the fact that the world may not need the Avatar anymore. She also saved Kuvira from the spirit weapon risking the avatar spirit and her own life. She was also the first metal bending avatar. She accomplished what Aang never could which was bringing the air nation back. She also found a way for spirits and humans to live together in peace and harmony successfully creating balance. I do not believe that any Avatar is better than another. They are all have their own accomplishments, strengths and weaknesses but at the end of the day they are all a re-incarnation of Avatar Wan. This is why I disagree that Aang is better than Korra. I believe that they are both equal.

  • Korra > Aang

Korra defeats multiple ennemies. Although, she struggled a lot, and so did Aang. It was difficult to define which avatar was the best until the legend of korra finale. Korra and her gang fight a giant platinum robot that shoots rays of spirit vine energy. *ATTENTION SPOIL and in the end, Korra saves Kuvira and survives this monstrous and powerful laser. There is no doubt, Korra is much more powerful, and she has a lot more to accomplish. Both Korra and Aang showed their best in the avatar state. It is logic that the avatar gets better with every generation because the avatar state is the power and experience of every avatar that ever existed combined. That being said, when Korra is in the avatar state, she has Aang's power within herself. Anyway, I think Korra is better than Aang.

  • Korra is better

Korra is better avatar than Aang, she is more powerful and she is fighting with strongest enemies in every season when Aang had to fight only one main enemy, who hadn't reason to become such a bad*ss, when Korra's every enemy have so much reasons and are stronger than Ozai was. + Korra can bend metal and Aang couldn't.

  • Korra is better.

Korra has more enemies, when Aang had only 1. She is metalbender and she is more powerful than Aang. She was risking her life and the whole avatar circle just to save Kuvira's life who wanted to kill her. In every season her enemies were going stronger and stonger but she defeated every of them.

  • Korra is better avatar than Aang.

Aang had only one job-to defeat Ozai. When Korra had to defeat strongest enemies in every season. In season 1-Crazy bloodbender who took her bending and she defeated him without the avatar state and only with airbending. In season 2-she defeated one of the strongest waterbenders and the darkest spirit Vaatu, without any connection to Raava or the past lives, in season 3-she defeated Zaheer an airbender who could fly, again without any connection to Raava or past lives, in season 4-she defeated Kuvira, KUVIRA!! A crazy metalbender with a mecha giant who was blowing everything with just one Kuvira's move!! Also Korra was a metalbender, when Aang wasn't, i know Aang learnt 3 elements in 1 year, but that doesn't mean that he's better than Korra. Korra is more powerful and better bender. She opened 2 spirits portal and bring balance to the world. Soo i think Korra is better avatar ))
