• The bible advocates chopping off heads.

There are hundreds of verses in the bible advocating killing gay people, killing atheists, killing innocent children, etc. The is even a verse in the bible telling you to smash children on the head with a rock. There is even a verse talking about killing every man, women, child, and animal in a city.

  • In a way.

There are many aspects in which the Bible teaches valuable moral lessons. But the other, horrible things it teaches outweigh the pros. I make my case:

"If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives." (Leviticus 20:13 NAB)

Whoever strikes his father or mother shall be put to death. (Exodus 21:15 NAB)

Whoever sacrifices to any god, except the Lord alone, shall be doomed. (Exodus 22:19 NAB)

Yes, keep the Sabbath day, for it is holy. Anyone who desecrates it must die (Exodus 31:12-15 NLT)

Make ready to slaughter his sons for the guilt of their fathers; Lest they rise and posses the earth, and fill the breadth of the world with tyrants. (Isaiah 14:21 NAB)

As you can see, the Bible advocates all these horrible things. In this way the Bible is a wholly evil book, and should not be taught to ANYONE.

  • God loves to kill people for no reason.

    Exodus 12:29
At midnight the Lord struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh, who sat on the throne, to the firstborn of the prisoner, who was in the dungeon, and the firstborn of all the livestock as well.

    Samuel 6:19
But God struck down some of the inhabitants of Beth Shemesh, putting seventy of them to death because they looked into the ark of the Lord. The people mourned because of the heavy blow the Lord had dealt them.

  • The bible condones slavery.

God gives exact instructions on what to do with your slaves, how long you can keep them, which ones you can purchase, that you cannot have Jewish slaves, how you can get around the previous law, how you can treat them, and that they are your property and can be passed down to your children.

  • Worship me or burn for eternity!

An all powerful god who supposedly loves all his children does not love them enough to make sure he gives them a reason to believe. Well, the reason he gives is horrid, at best. Believe in me or rot for eternity. People don't believe so they will go to heaven. The try to believe because they are scared of hell. That is horrible.

  • Endorses a lot of violence

Genocide , human sacrifice , slaughter, rape child abuse, stoning of people ,castration, slaughter of infants ,lake of fire ,torture of souls, slavery, killing of animals for atonement, destroying people by flooding ,firebombing cities, damning people, commanding slaughtervof innocents, blood sacrifice, teaching people to kill their unbrlieving relatives Vengeance on enemies.Swallowing people up in holes in the groundofb

  • But of course!

This is one of the many ancient books written to control the people with religion. There are countless instances of women being underneath men, killing non-believers, slavery, rape, God violating free will, God being a d*ck for no reason, people being "wicked" when they didn't do anything, etc., etc., etc.
The people denying this are probably those who either haven't read the Bible or are cherry picking from it.

  • What would followers of the bible think of any other book that condoned genocide, bigotry, and misogyny?

The special pleading that goes along with peoples desperate rationalizations of biblical immorality doesn't make the bible any less of bloody epic of intolerance. Any other book that advocated the things the bible does would put Christians in a uproar (in fact, they are in an uproar over the Quran). The fact that believers must cherry pick the good parts of the bible lends evidence to the bibles overall lack of morality. Anybody that decided to force a rape victim to marry their rapist would be considered evil, yet apologists rationalize this biblical commandment and, somehow, deny the barbarity of the bible.

  • Uh... Hell Yeah

“When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property.” (Exodus 21:20-21 NAB)

“Now kill all the boys and all the women who have slept with a man. Only the young girls who are virgins may live; you may keep them for yourselves.” (Numbers 31:7-18 NLT)

These are among the thousands of verses that encourage its followers to rape, murder, sacrifice, enslave, and torture other human beings.

  • The Bible cannot be evil.

The Bible supports and promotes love there is no way it can be evil. The Bible says "Do to others as you would have them do unto you" Luke 6:31. The Bible says "In everything treat others as you would want them to treat you" Matthew 7:12. The Bible says "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with truth." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. The Bible says "But love your enimies do good to them" It says "whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen." 1 John 4:20. The Bible being evil would be a direct contradiction to its main teachings. Last but not least, if the Bible was evil surely Christians would be evil to and this is not true

  • Bible isn't evil

Those verses where the old testament and there heads were chopped off because THEY did evil read it yourself. When u did bad didn't your parents punish you. The Bible is a good book and if your against it then just walk away the Bible is the word from God.

  • Guide to life

The Bible teaches us how to live our life. We learn to follow the ten commandments. Synonyms of evil include wicked, bad, and sin. The Bible teaches us not to be bad and most of all not to sin. We learn to honor God. The Bible is a great, not evil, book.

  • Hello, we're talking about God's book!

The Bible is here to teach us, not to haunt us in our nightmares! These are stories of Jesus' life and death, and all the great profits and parables. The Bible is an amazing godly item, not an evil mutant trying to kill us! Take my word for it, the Bible is not evil.

  • In no way shape or form no.

The bible states, "Keep the Sabbath day holy otherwise you will be put to death," only because this is a law. Everything that you stated is against the 10 commandments and if you sin you die stated simply. This is no suprise. Just because you have a justice system doesn't make you evil. When your parents ground you because you stayed past your curfew, then are they considered evil? The answer is no. Are the United States evil because you get put in jail for murdering someone? Again, no. Also, The Bible states the only true way to eternal life. How could someone preach evil if they are telling of the only way to salvation? Once again I state that The Bible isn't evil because it only preaches justice.

  • Humans are the savages

The Bible was addressed to a barbaric world that would never have grasped some of the values in free societies of today. Free societies like the US enjoy many liberties thanks to Christianity, and cannot brag of attaining liberty outside of Christianity.

The Bible is the basis of forming a moral worldview that endures forever. The book has morally evolved the world to far better moral standing.

  • The Bible can't be evil it's God's truth of manner

The Bible tells you things you should do thats right and teaches you ways to live, be happy and treat a person the way you want them to treat you. God treated everyone like his own sons daughters sisters brothers. The Bible holds the truth of what happened to him. He sacrificed his life for us, he died on the cross for us. We would have no god and we will not have at least 1 good thing that we do or people do to us.

  • As much as it is not a history book, it is not evil

I would agree the the bible is not based on true events, however, the bible does not teach evil and is against it. It is actually a good book for character building. Of course, things such as slavery and killing homosexuals are controversial in this book, but if you think about when it was created, it was widely accepted at that point of time that homosexuals should be killed.

  • No, because there are no evil books.

The Bible is a book. Books are made of paper (or papyrus, for the most ancient ones) and ink. Neither paper nor ink are evil. Do they become evil when you combine them? No, because if it was so, then all books must be evil, because they only differ on the framework of their components. Can the framework of a thing make it suddenly evil? I think not. All Bibles are books and 25% of books are Bibles. If books are not evil (as I demonstrated), it is impossible that the Bible is evil.

Furthermore, the Bible teaches the opposite of the things people claiming to respect it have killed for. This is unlike Mein Kampf, which achieved exactly what the author wanted it to achieve. The Bible didn't achieve the will of its authors, which included such things as world peace, acceptance of one's self, love of friends, obedience to the State, struggle with the State, obedience to God, struggle with God, acting on one's convictions in all things, and taking care of one's own body. The opposite of what people who haven't read it say it says.
