  • Hells to the yeah!

I am proud to say i am a god particle and have to agree fully to the statements made. I was born in the heavens above and was flwon here on the space ship they called 'YES', upon arrivle i was given a vision from the big man upstairs himself, he said in his booming voice, "spread the crazy and unbelieveable words of religion and i shall grant you three wishes, one is you get lots of hookers, two is you get even more hookers and three is you get to keep the 'YES' spaceship, so i did what i was told and ventured for many a day and many a night until the rain came and the end.

  • I cant help but agree with Chuck!!

We God particles have a right to be what we want. The fact that we have the name God Particle is clear proof that the Man himself exists. I remember back in Nam i was brought down to the earth through a tunnels of light created by none other than God. He said to me "Boy you get down there and stop this mindless violence. Convince them to go attack someother religious people in the middle east. Thats where its all at!" True Story. I took a video and everything!

  • Sure is buddy!

As a god particle my self I fell that it is completely true. God under his own wisdom puts "plugs" if you will, to his existance. As god is the creator of everything he is certain to have invented science to amuse himself as you can tell by his use of humour in the name GOD PARTICLE.

  • Considering the name god particle as a proof for god is like considering a cat called Unicorn as a proof for unicorns

"God particle" is just a nickname for the Higgs boson. Its not a proof for god,you see scientists at the time wanted proof the Higgs boson but the proof was so hard to find that they decided to call it the god particle because it was impossible to argue if it existed or not and now that we've found it at the Cern, people are confused over the name "god particle"

  • The term "God Particle" is a misunderstood term

When Physicists and other scientists use the term "God Particle", this actually has nothing to do with God. The name was taken from the fact that the Higgs Boson was "so goddamn hard" to find. In other words, many people who hear about this recently "discovered" particle are taking the term too literally in the same sense that people take the word "bang" in "Big Bang" too literally.

  • Not it kid.

The Higgs Boson has nothing to do with gods or religions. It is a elementary particle that was theoretical until a few months ago when it was tentatively confirmed. The name
"God Particle" is a nickname that some in the media latched on to, and many who are uninformed still use.

  • Not in the slightest.

The name the "god particle", was just to get the media in on it. It is professionally called the Higgs Boson or Higgs Particle. It in fact only is an explanation of certain natural phenomenon and has no relevance to god. Just one of the many particles of the standard model.

  • Quite the opposite.

The people who discovered this particle wanted to call it the "God-damn particle" due to the amount of money they spend on the discovery. This was, of course, an unacceptable name for a publication, so the physicists shortened it to the God Particle. It is a name, and nothing more.

  • Are you stupid?

The god particle isn't proof of god, it was an amusing nickname given to a particle with different functions than other particles. Of course there are those who don't get this, but those that don't get it also don't understand what the god particle is... I hope this was a troll.

  • As cool as it sounds

This venture in itself is pretty unlikely. Now I believe in God, but a God Particle. You're going to need some pretty solid evidence for that, and if you don't, people will just dismiss it as a bull crap crackpot story, much like some people do nowadays with religion in itself. Don'tgive people any more reason to ridicule religion.

  • Of course not- quite the opposite.

The Higgs Boson was called the "god damned particle" by one researcher because of the difficulty of proving its existence in the sixties, and the press latched onto a shortened moniker.
In fact, the Higgs Boson (or BSE boson) shows how it is possible for particles in our early universe to gain mass- it's another strike against the necessity of any supernatural intervention.

Physicists hate the term "the God particle" because it in effect gives people the opposite idea of the truth.

  • LOL, uh, No

The Higgs Boson has nothing to do with gods or religions. It is a elementary particle that was theoretical until a few months ago when it was tentatively confirmed. The name
God Particle" is a nickname that some in the media latched on to, and many who are uninformed still use.

  • Absolutely not, actually.

''God particle'' is just a misnomer applied by popular media to hype up interest in science. The actual Higgs boson has nothing to do with the existence of god. It relates to the bosons interaction with a Higgs field, which decides how much mass it has. Higher interaction with Higgs field = more mass, less interaction = less mass. No interaction = no mass.
