The Mo Ibrahim Foundation Prize requires that the leaders be:
1. Former African Executive Head of State or Government
2. Left office in the last three years
3. Democratically elected
4. Served his/her constitutionally mandated term
5. Demonstrated exceptional leadership
Isn't that a bit much? Why don't we try to support leaders that don't meet every single qualification? We should lower the bar and offer incentives to more African leaders and communities.
